I also wanted to add that I replaced his eye (in the correct position!) just after this video. I'm not exactly sure where you all think model horses come from. They don't just spring out fully formed at a toy shop, you know--someone had to sculpt each and every one, and I'm guessing most of them involved removing and replacing parts at some point.

Don't worry, the horse is not alive and cannot feel. If I didn't do things like this every copy would have a crooked face instead of being nice!

Wow, I'm surprised both that this has gotten so many comments and at the nature of the comments. Yes, I sculpted this horse. From scratch. I'm not destroying anything because it is something that did not exist until I made it. This is just a part of making sculptures. Abel (this sculpture) is not a Breyer, nor does he belong to someone else whose property I am destroying. He is mine and in order to make him correct sometimes it is necessary to remove parts.

For goodness sake, people, you are overreacting. For one, its called customizing. You change the horses overall look, and it turns out better then before(if you good at it, and beleive me, she is). For another, SHE sculped that horse, so she can do whatever she wants with it. Number three(and this is for rihannafan2323) it is NOT a breyer! Its an artist resin, which are at LEAST 3X more expensive and sometimes even more beautful than breyers(in my opinion).

Maggie knows what she's doing guys. You obviously don't realize Maggie sculpted that resin in the first place, she was obviously going to do some drastic re-sculpting. I own a Shah Azim resin sculpted by her. She is a fantastic artist, and that's the way to do it (depending on what you want done of course) But geez, some of these comments make me laugh.

Um, hi guys! Totally forgot about this video. I'm Maggie (the one doing the sculpting in the video). I sculpted the horse to start with, so I am certainly not destroying someone else's work--only my own--and I'm not destroying it anyhow! I was removing the eye so that I could adjust it's positioning--just moving it up a little bit to even it out. Right after this video I glued it back in in the new position. This was the original sculpture that was later cast in resin as "Abel".

That's how you do it, seriously, especially if you really want to do it well. Or if you want to put in gorgeous glass eyes. You should see how much of the rest of the horse they cut out quite often so that they can re-sculpt it. And it is not inhumane as plastic cannot feel. If you would like, I can send you some links which show the steps of customization--with beautiful results.
