  • please check out my youtube channel...Burroughs is in "Taser Gun"...something may be about to begin

  • The analogy-ness of it all is great. Well done.

  • FOOKING AWESOME!

  • Well, I remember this, done shortly before Burrough's death, and Morrison was definitely a fan. Burroughs also did a series of appearances, etc. with Laurie Anderson, and wish they were on youtube.

  • @fubar50cat Me to. I atended a couple and they were awsome.

  • Grazie a verdecrux.

  • I thought Morrison work was poetry like bar wire wrapped around the world

  • Holy FUCK!! this is awesome! WILLY S BURROUGH AND JIM MORRISON

  • you can make a paragone look video Nazzareno Italiano canta

  • Yes, WSB, everybody's in...

  • i'm in

  • Wow, what a messed up video!!!! Awesome!!!!

  • anyone know where i can find Jim saying this?

  • @bellotti8101 Its called Celebration Of The Lizard

  • @smurfman95 Thanks bro

  • This only plays in shitty 240p!?

  • Yeh, I'm in. After seeing "Howl," I'm revisiting Burroughs on You Tube, continuing to feed my jones for him and the Beats and always find ing more footage. This video was perfect to throw into the mix I was chipping on. Never been a Doors fan, but Burroughs' voice here is perfect. Reminds me of his awesome reading of "The Junky's Christmas." And, hey, just noticed it was made into a film.

  • Lots of nasty comments. I like cover albums like "Stoned immaculate" because I became sick of the original Doors recordings from FM radio overplay. These sorts of projects are refreshing and interesting, and breath new life into old tired favorites.

Poetry like all art is subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

  • Yes, Mr Lee, everybody's now in. Let the ceremony begin. Burn the city to the ground.

  • Morrison and Burroughs were both "influenced"....this is obvious. This is what makes

their lyrics beautiful. Few of us have the nerve to reach that peak. I do agree, however, that it can be a cop out.

    But............rock on............

  • bill's later "sell-out" stuff - from the narcissistic treacle of sonic youth to the calcified totems of gus van sant- was foisted on him by nervous-giggle hipster-media brats disguising themselves desperately. the fact that he went along with it all is a testament to his true, gentle gentleman demeanor.

  • Eh. When he got old, Burroughs may have gone along with some ideas for projects that he really ought to have declined. He did seem to enjoy the status he held among younger people. Possibly he needed money, I don't know. That's OK, though. We forgive him. Who would hold it against him if he liked being seen as a kind of elderly rock star? Doesn't mean he liked the Doors or Jim Morrison though, although perhaps he did.

  • This is really stupid. Morrison was such a pedestrian poet. Burroughs did this because he was a very open guy, not out of any love or respect necessarily for Morrison as an artist. Burroughs did a lot of corny things like this in his later years. Just look at that cheesy thing he did with Bono! And that Nike commercial! Luckily Burrough's literary reputation is great enough that when he sank this low, it's still really hard to call him a sellout (even when he sorta was sometimes.)

  • @RotoPlasmX You are a fucking moron and know nothing of real poetry!!!

  • @bugmusk6 So you think me, one who studies and devours the work of Rimbaud, Mallarme, Baudelaire, Lautreamont, Jarry, Apollonaire like some sort of religious mad man, someone who "knows nothing of real poetry", eh? Just because I don't care for this, that I disagree with you, doesn't mean I'm a "fucking moron". Rock singers are seldom very good poets when their words are removed from their songs. There are a few exceptions: Dylan, maybe...Leonard Cohen, Edward Ka-Spel...a few others.

  • 2 of the 20th centuries true nihilists

  • two great talents-love it!!!

  • Morrison was a drunk asshole, I hope they have evicted him after his fans trashed pere lachaise.

  • @sydferret asshole or not!! Burroughs one of the greatest writer of the XX century covered him!!!!and he did not for Syd ahahahah Barrett!!!ma vaffanculo coglione!!

    doors rulesssss

  • @parker9977 Bill was paid to promote the repackaging of the decomposing.

WSB admired Syd more than the drunk pretty boy.

  • @edzzzwin .. What makes you think you are so sure. What if I am. WAKE UP !!

  • My Fucking God....Two of my tHree great-influenCes in one video

  • This is OUTSTANDING!!!! Old Uncle Bill.....over Morrison's sounds...JUST FANTASTIC!!! Thank YOU, from bottom of my Heart....*s

  • She loaths cyber bullies but is one, check out what it wrote OVER, and OVER again on my channel.

    Practice what you Preach, PLEASE.

  • You love to seek out people to target and attack, never heard of Freedom of Choice? Oh thats right you don't have the rights an American have.

  • sweet-is everybody in....getting there Mr B-we are certainly getting there.

  • As a matter of fact one of his favorite poets was Allen Ginsberg.

  • Jim was too eager to make his appointment with the other side. Burroughs was content to sojourn with us a little while longer.

  • Burroughs's major contribution is in literary and artistic collage - he doesn't care who does the material. When he respects the orginal it tends to get less cut up. Like his stuff with Tom Waits on the Black Rider. V cool.

  • Celebration of the Lizard: I fucking love this poem! Jim Morrison!!

  • I don't think Uncle Bill would have minded his voice being remixed like this any more than he minded reading Jim Morrison's lyrics instead of his own.

  • HaHaHa, how do you know, did you know him by person?

  • WSB -as an artist-was a sampler. That's how that conclusion is drawn.

  • Yeah I agree he rules. But I mean: how do you know how Jim Morrison was.

  • Morrison doesn't strike me as a simple fool, that's for sure. Sure thing.

  • I mean, come on. He wrote the whole Celebration of the Lizard...

  • Comment removed

  • @murcuryvapor and CLEMIATHON: You both can roll your conclusions and shove them up you know where. Wisenoses.

  • This is where it's at!

  • "Is everybody in, the ceremony is about to begin"

I can't wait for the show to begin!

  • I think io penso che il video that the video of lupetto without prejudice abbia has inside in se l'essensa the essence of B

  • You might like listening to Burrough's audio without beats and other B.S. added. Not that I hated this, I'm just saying.

  • Kerou's pop art/ cartoons are the only thing approaching intellectual sasafras these strange and snakEy days. Burroughs , HS Thompson, Dylan were chasing the same divine groove in different ways.

  • what he said at 1:30 ? anyone kind enough please ?

    thank you;)

  • "Oh how to thank history"

  • thank you :)

but how it follows "of jim morrison, jim m. ....in paris......till 1:48 "

:) please, I've already google it and couldn´t found what he said

  • "jim morrison who drowned in a bathtub in paris. seems like a goddamn odd thing to happen to me"

  • thank you man, alllot:)

  • Always the same story

  • Hell I did. What I did mean is that everybody over 15 was laughing at Morrison's poetry by the early seventies. Around that time lot of bands asked Burroughs to collaborate on something, but I don't think he ever really took them seriously.

  • For me this means that Burroughs accepted Morrison as a real poet. Morrison always wanted to be accepted as a poet. This would have made him proud. After all, he was into the Beat Generation.

  • U absolutely right!!!!

  • I think mr. Burroughs was simply a very, very polite man who didn't want to hurt the feelings of two or three generations of decerebrated rockers...

  • Your comment got 5 up for insulting The Doors by saying they have no cerebrum?

  • Either The Doors or fans of The Doors.

    Not sure which one.

But you did quite clearly write out the word "decerebrated".

  • Now I guess I'll have to tell 'em - that I've got no cerebellum. ( Ramones )

  • .......

    I.. I'm only 21...

  • @jbrenard If you are saying Jim Morrison lacks Intelligence, then all I have to say is your ignorance astounds me. WSB along with the other three beats that pioneered the Beatnik generation are no doubt genius and to be respected. Jim wasn't just a "rocker" before he even started writing songs he was writing poetry, and his poetry is very good I'd say. He loved poetry and if you would read a book on him you could learn he wasn't just some "decerebrated rocker"

  • Comment removed

  • As a matter of fact, I happend to have read a few books on the Doors, which is a band I like a lot. But *please* do not tell me that Morrison wrote good poetry, especially if you're into the likes of the Beat generation, or I will start and wonder if you actually read poetry.

  • @jbrenard Why U say Jim didn't wrote good poetry...Just curious

  • @jbrenard, yeah man, as a matter of fact Morrison just wrote great (fantastic) songs and was an fascinating performer and singer.. And can you writ poetry like his? But you're the 'real' expert here..

  • @jbrenard um I looks as though you are the one that hasn't read any of the Beat generation poets or any of Jim's stuff. Or maybe just too stupid to get it. I find that most people that don't think Jim was a great poet either have room temperature I.Q's or havn't taken the time to really read his stuff.

  • @TeddyBuletti Morrison was a legit poet (if just barely)

  • @TeddyBuletti he would be so honoured to have this done!

  • @TeddyBuletti Bill doesn't go beyond admiring his influences.

  • @TeddyBuletti I've heard that Morrison was highly influenced by the poet William Blake. Well, my English teacher told me that.

  • @Diamonduserabuser It;s true. There are big chunks of Blakes poetry in Doors songs. Also the name "the doors" cam from blake via Aldouse Huxley.

  • @mathman43 a drugged up third rate hack just like christ

  • I am interested in anything about revolt, disorder, chaos-especially activity that seems to have no meaning. It seems to me to be the road toward freedom... Rather than starting inside, I start outside and reach the mental through the physical.

    Jim Morrison

  • @TeddyBuletti yeah Jim would have been real proud of this.

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • wow

  • great compose!

  • Verga, it's wonderful, Burroughs.

  • Love Burroughs!

  • Burroughs use of Morrison's poetry is definitely tongue & cheek. More importantly he uses this format to illustrate his theory of cut ups.

  • FUCK! I love William S Burroughs!! Brilliant!

  • Dynamite. The type of thing I remember (vaguely) from the T.V.Room @ Danceteria.

  • Wow......very cool......who made this piece?

I saw the Doors when I was eleven years old

in Chicago and I met Burroughs when I was

29 years old in Milwaukee. Both great artists and much misunderstood.

  • Holy Shit dude ! you actually met him ? and you actually saw the doors !! at 19 yrs old to me that's fucking amazing !!!!

  • Yes it was the first rock concert I ever went to and it was the best rock concert I

ever went to. More like a public meeting

really. Morrison was at the peak of his powers. Between songs when he was

just improvising the crowd of 5,000 were

absolutely quiet, hanging on his every

word. It was just amazing. The arena as theater.

  • wow

  • This so very much rules man!
