  • I sometimes miss the corps, fuck the civilian life.

  • Pain is weakness leaving the body. .

  • I can neither confirm nor deny that I took part in such a ceremony about 2 years ago......

  • They give blood wings in the Army also.

  • Honestly this isn't that bad. These are no different than other brotherly traditions in other cultures, I am sure.

  • Where are all the "Tap Out" t shirts and bro high fives

  • funny thing is, all these dudes now are 1stSgts and Cols burning young dogs for hazing lol.

  • Lightning from the sky, thunder from the sea. 1st ANGLICO 87-90

  • earning what men have died for ,absoluty his new family everyone of them would die for him . college doesnt give you right to enterfier. it only gives you a pss

  • I wish there were still traditions like this still out there.

  • oorah!!!

  • i would bet that unofficially it still is there-= hope so anyway-SgtMaj Ret . R Luntz 19580 -1980-urugaaaaa

  • Hurts a lot more when youre grinding it into the bone rather than the hits... :)

  • This is something traditional and it does build a close comradory. A lot of people think US Marines go home and play the violin or hang out in the library in their spare time. Give me a break, their fucking Marines.

  • got my gold wings way back in 84. proudest day of my life. proudly wore them for 18 years in the corps. after the intial punch in the chest you really dont feel anything after that. to a marine theres no such thing as hazing. its a right of passage that few go through. recon 4 life....semper fi

  • I dont need to let grown men hit me to be accepted in my Corps. In my opinion any man that lets a gorwn man hit them and get away with it is less than....

  • @blee947 you are right man that shit don't look cool this is fucked up i don't have to go through some sick shit like that to prove i'm a marine then what boot camp is they beat you in there

  • Got mine in 98' it's a shame the mothers of America have fucked our Corps......I saw such a change from 98' to 06' when I was reluctantly discharged due to medical reasons....Semper Fi to all my brothers out there I love ya'll each and every one!!!

    Sgt.Gillingham USMC Ret.

  • I don't exactly get what is going on here? Can someone explain. Are they basically punching him where his pin is?

  • @Turtlebomb11 its pretty much a "welcome to the unit" thing. they earned there gold wings and now to be accepted by all the others they have to go through a ritual

  • @Turtlebomb11 when he graduated the recon camp and oficially became a recon marine this is a tradition of pining the pin to is body

  • oorah

  • SEMPER FI got mine in 2000

  • fucking hardcore.

  • what i would give to be one

  • This happens everytime you pick up. Not only when you get your gold wings. I when I pinned Lance my Cpls destroyed my collar. When I picked up Cpl we ran the gauntlet and received our bloodstripe. Civilians will never understand.

  • @only1option Because they're sane.

  • lol, This still goes on baby. :-) Its a right of passage.

  • The little needles it was OKAY, haah they's bastard took advantage on taking theie aggressio on my chest, thats what I hated. SemperFi, (85) Chief 1st Force Recn Telaga...

  • @USMCforcerecon878 to bad you wont be doing this. sadly this is one of the traditions that has died out in the Corp. just like the "grunt brand".

  • where can i sign up , looks like fun

  • Took it like a fucking champ. Semper yut.

  • hazing is stupid

  • @noearaujo

This isnt hazing its a tradition dumass.

  • @noearaujo

    Pussies are stupid.

  • @noearaujo nope this is not hazing, real hazing is done in dumbass fraternities and sororities, the reason for hazing in most part is to avoid getting charged for stupid stuff and to learn your fuckin lesson, that way you'll be sure never to do it again, and last but not least, its a fuckin tradition, it makes you have much more sense of belonging its a natural thing we love the things that give us the hardest time and most pain, whether its emotionally or physically.

  • It's like getting jumped into a gang or something

  • these were the days when you earned a job a famililey not given lightly 1 is 1 2 for 1 is better

  • I'm a gold winger and still have my shirt with original wings and blood stains on it. Received them in Okinawa in 1995....if you aren't a gold winger you will never understand so don't try to....semper fi

  • fuck yeah and fuck mothers of america!!! oorah devils

  • that looks so fun cant wait till i get mine

  • if any of these fuckers try this shit with me am slittin some throats not this grunt!

  • is it safe? i mean they are punching exactly where the heart is

  • i think this prooves that sadism is inside everyone.like a dna trait

  • oh god this brings back memories when i got pinned corpral, i had about 30 others waiting for my ass at my pinning. and thoushallreason u are right, but thats after the first couple of hits brother, after that ur golden.....

  • Gold wings are you marines version of airbourne right? Looks alot like when I got back to my unit after airbourne school, I wonder if yalls cherry blasts are as fun as ours haha.

  • @brizzurker1984 theirs no aribourne marines theirs only two kinds marines and recon marines these guys are recon, recon does everything jumping out of plains, boat deployments etc.

  • @brizzurker1984 Not sure what a cherry blast is, but it sounds like a riot. see if some soldiers can sneek some of the vids onto youtube.

  • that ceremony makes the Gold Wing special

  • what is this..

  • them recon boys dont play!!

  • so scary but this where the brotherhood of the recon build!!!!

    go recon!!!!!go devil dogs!!

  • my dad told me about this stuff he still has his shirt.

  • Some proud Marines right there!

  • My father was a Marine. He once told me if it came to jail or the Jarheads, he could get me a lawyer. This must be what he meant.

  • Legalize hazing.

    Miss'n the Corps..

    0311-- police call technition

    Semper F#ckit

  • @ruckus75 haha LMAO, thats every MOS with the devils brother. We in the Corps master Police Call to the teeth:)

Semper Fi brother. Its not as bad as you think. give it time, rank and deployments and its alright.

  • that gets my thumbs down sorry. I respect the Marine corps highly but I dont approve of this stupid hazing. Very very redundant.

  • @mrninja1988 You wouldn't understand...Celer, Silens, Mortalis....

  • @mrninja1988 Thats because the men next to you would walk pass as you died in front of them and act like nothing happened. Mine brothers would lay down next to me before leaving me.

  • @mrninja1988 You need to read up on your military history buddy. We don't consider this hazing.

  • so, what is this?

  • THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLE DAYS!!! OOOOO RAHHHH!!!!

  • Only the Marine Corps has insane traditions like this LOVE IT

  • @codeman127 'Only the Marine Corps'? WRONG. :)

  • I do not approve of this form of hazing. We don't destroy valuable assets. The fallacies of youth and bravado...

  • @scrateshooter Nothing was destroyed. Just initiated into an elite brotherhood! OORRAHH!

  • @scrateshooter another bleeding heart that has no idea

  • @Greenmarine6 1ST OF ALL, WE DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW OUR MARINE CORP.WE ARE BROTHERS, GOD, FAMILY, CORP,& COUNTRY.

I'M OLD CORP! PROUD OF IT! WE DID THIS SAME PINNING TRADITION IN THE 1980'S. THE REASON 4 MOST HAZING IS TO BE ACCEPTED BY YOUR OWN PEERS,& BROTHERS. TO SEE IF YOU EVEN BELONG WITH REAL MEN. IF WE THE PINNERS, PUT YOU THROUGH IT. WE LIFT YOU UP HUG YOU, AND TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE NOW OUR BROTHER,&WE'RE PROUD OF YOU! SO IF U WEREN'T IN MY MARINE CORP FO

  • @IAMSCOTLANDFOREVER OORAH BROTHER! I'll be joining the corps in september. shipping in June. Semper Fi.

  • @IAMSCOTLANDFOREVER You are a sad, sick human organism.

  • @IAMSCOTLANDFOREVER *Corps. there's an s at the end.

  • I stood there 'bout 2 weeks later 4 my own Gold Wing Ceremony on 4/17/92

  • When you graudate jump school, the Army gives you lead wing. When a Marine gets his 10th jump, he gets Marine gold wings, so it's a big deal to us.

Usually, every gold winger that had something to do with the jump that day gets to pin you. Sometimes that's a helluva lot of guys pounding your wings directly on your chest. The wings have little spikes on the back, and the truly painful part is when they stick them in you and then grind them -- sometimes tearing tissue. Beer helps.

  • old corps - blood wings are a

corps tradition - recon guys are tough, like the old corps - get a good harbor site - semper fi!

  • When you graduate jump school, you get the Army "lead wings." When a Marine gets his 10th jump, he gets his Marine gold wings. We commerate that special day by pinning those wings (with little spikes in the back) directly to your chest. Usually, all gold wingers who had something to do with the jump that day get to pin you. Sometimes that's a shit load of Marines. Basically, your chest takes a beating, and sometimes the spikes, which guys gring into your chest, rip tissue, so it's painful

  • Not sure what is going on in this vid, but the "gold wing ceremony" happens when a Marine gets his 10th jump in, and, usually, everyone who jumped that day or had something to do with the jump gets to pin the Marine's gold wings on him. Until the 10th, Marines wear the Army "lead wings," so gold wings are a big deal. Getting punched in your chest by a bunch of Marines is painful enough, but when they grind those spikes into you, then it really hurts. The pain helps you remember the day.

  • im a little confised can someone explain whats going on in this video, is them getting hit some sort of a right of passage?

  • the pay is better slightly if your in the billet but the risks are more than the pay,we do not do it for the pay, we do it for the challenge, and our brothers. so fauzdog most of us were grunts before we went to Recon, how about you /

  • You dont enlist for 21. This is easy compared to what you do as a roper. This is tradition that has been handed down since the days of old. My blood stripes hurt worse the day after than my wings did.

  • can somebody explain this to me plz? im gonna enlist for the recon marines so plz explain?

  • You don't enlist for FR (0321) You earn this shit the hard way. A wing ceremony is nothing less than a show of respect, albeit the guys being pinned get the worst of it. If you're tight enough to wear these wings, you're tight enough to take what your brothers give you....

  • Ask your recruiter for Reserves and a "UZ" in your contract. That will reserve a slot at TRYING OUT for RECON. It will not guarantee 0321. I recommend active and asking for an infantry slot. Then if you thought SOI was a walk in the park, try out for RECON. Infantry slots are a little hard to come by right now. Too many people want to be badass all at once. Talk to a recruiter!

  • these are the type of guys i want to fight with side by side!!!!

  • HELLYEA!!!!!!!!!!!! redblooded americans-

  • Stay safe, Marines.

  • This is a response to "sleipnir3000" 5 comments down. Sounds like you are upset about something, it reminds me of when I got to the grunts from Force Recon and almost everyone there that had anything negative to say about Recon or Force Recon would say that we were nothing more than glorified grunts. If that is and was the case then how come there aren't any more grunts trying out for Recon? After all we get paid a hell of a lot more than regular infantry.

  • so why are they hitting the guy

  • it's a tradition in the military for badges and rank you have earned.

  • Been there & done that. As a matter of fact, I stood against that wall about 2 weeks or so later after this was shot and had my own ceremony on 4/17/92

    Semper Fi Marine Corps!!!

  • lke a month after i was born hahaha

  • What did any of this prove? A relic of the peacetime 90's. Six months of deployment on a MEU, eighteen months of training...repeat. The only way to look like a bad ass must have been to participate in these rituals. How times have changed.

  • Hmm... you sound like you got a grudge. If you were not Recon why didn't you try out for it, after all we get paid a hell of a lot more than regular Marines or grunts. The one comment that those that have something against Recon is that they are glorified grunts. If that was the case then how come there aren't more Marines lining up to be "glorifed grunts" ? After all the PAY is way better.

  • How so, in question to your statement of pay being alot better ? I figured you'd still get the same base pay since you are still the same Pay Grade regardless of MOS and Billet.

  • i just moved to the 10th grade. and i really wanna become a recon marine. what would i need to do?

  • talk to your local recruiter

  • get to at least 25 pull ups, and 8:30 mile and a half and 120 crunches in 2 minutes join the infantry and try out for Recon at R.I.P

  • just be in shape for traithlon. that'll help you alot.

oh, don't forget pull ups. try to do about 20 w/out kicking your feet. just straight up and down.

or you can run 7, 8 miles w/ 50pound sandbag in your pack.

  • Wait until you are 17 and enlist for Recon Marines. If you really want to improve your chances make sure you are not a retard and/or handicap.

  • This is at a bar in San Clemente, California. I'm a former 1st Recon Bn. Marine & I stood against that wall & got my gold wings pinned on me less than 2 months later on 4/17/92 by most of the Marines you see here in this ceremony. The way the blood ran on my t-shirt I was told was the best one any had seen. SEMPER FI!

  • how painful is it exactly?

  • Ummm... If you were 1st Bn., you got silver (lead sled) wings. If you were an FR Marine, then you would get the gold. I was with 1st Recon Bn. and got kicked to a Force indoc billet and finally made FR and 1st Force Recon Co. Only then did I earn those Gold Wings and after a time, earned a Scuba Bubble. Get your facts straight before posting BS....

  • Ah yes, I know the place well. Looks like the whole crew is there. I'm not going to out the bar in case the guys are still doing gold wing ceremonies there.

    Semper Fi.

  • Those are some true warriors right there. Man i love those shorts, wish the short shorts were back in style.

  • Best in the world

  • Yes alot of people get jump wings mostly leadsleads and the poages w/Gold wings are in jump paid billits so that would be Recon Force Recon anglco air delivery and Riggers, and Marsoc now. being a second generation gold winger I thinK its a long lost right of passage because if one goes by the regs you have to do thingd just so in oder to receive them i have seen gold wing wearer that truly don't rate them

  • Ooh Rah, my brother...

  • Just because you get jump wings, DOES not make you Recon. Many other m.o.s's get jump wings, even pogues.

  • Most don't, though. It's mainly Battalion Recon and MARSOC.

  • The men in this video don't look physically fit enough for Bn Recon, and certainly not fit enough for Force Recon. I served in Force Recon in the early days, '65-'66, and I never saw anything like this. To my understanding, Bn Recon and Force Recon have become much more capable over the decades, and a qualified Recon Marine today represents a very valuable and expensive asset. If this video portrays a real event involving Recon Marines, I hope the Marine Corps has put a stop to it.

  • they're cracking down hard on "hazing"

  • I was stationed in Okinawa at the time, I went to ARC with a few of these guys. Having been in 3rd Recon Bn, this stuff went on, yes it was illegal, but we considered ourselves better than all the other Marines, and honestly some of you may not like this, but we are. The rest of the amerikanos haven't a fuggin clue as to why we do these things, this makes us happy. Special Operations is the LAST and I mean LAST of real WARRIORS. the rest suck the big zionist political cock, FU bitches.

  • this SDI Ssgt Nichols square urselfs away aye aye sir!

  • Some of these men died in a hellicopter crash while training or a VBSS in cali.

Some of them are the best the community has ever seen

  • how many punches do they get each?

  • It is all love. When you do something memorable, you want to also do something memorable to celebrate. I've gotten my rank blood pinned and gotten my 'blood stripes.' The cuts and bruises heal, but the pride stays with you. That is why jarheads do it. It may seem ugly and vulgar to outsiders, but that is ok. Semper Fi.

  • What exactly do you mean when yuo say "blood stripes" I've heard it is the worst...what is it exactly?

  • blood stripes are worn on the blue trousers for all the Non Commissioned Officers lost in the battle of Chapultepec. So when someones picks up corporal, they get dead legged to make the blook stripes...

  • we have "blood stripes" on our blues. Basically you get hot boxed in a room with you new NCO peers and they beat the hell out of the outside part of your legs. Most of the times with knees etc.

  • What do they have to do exactly. Other then get speard with the pin?

  • get some devil dogs

  • Should have moved & let em all hit the wall.

  • lol the crew killed him lol

  • fix the audio dawg

  • i know this is all hardcore and stuff, but medically speaking its obviously very dangerous. i serve in the military but i know if someone punches me like that so many times i'd die

  • Probably why you don't have the wings.

  • Bacchus49,well said Bro!

    Semper Fi

  • o ya and fuck WMG.

  • haha .ya. they say this is banned now..but its not. ill be goin through it pretty soon

  • UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE These brave valiant warriors put their life on the line for freedom and you deny their freedom to post audio on a web video. It never amazes my how we can defend Americans that turn around and "spit" on us. The pussy libs in San Francisco at Youtube make money off of the blanket of security that the Marines and members of the armed service provide....

    SEMPER FI Devil Dogs

  • fuk yeah

    Fuk these youtube faggots.

    GO MARINES!

  • These brave valiant warriors are protecting our freedoms and you liberal pussies are disabling the video audio because some left-coast liberal pussy objects to the audio. Isn't freedom great...

    SEMPER FI brothers !!!

  • Yeah real fuckin' cool, copyright someones music when that "someone" is fighting to keep your freedoms!

    Fucking idiots...

  • "This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by WMG. The audio has been disabled. " - SCREW YOU!

    Bah!

    Go USMC!

  • Shit I know have of them they where with me back in the Days Viper out.

  • yep the stupid things that Marines would do

atleast he had on his kevlar

and sn't offended anyone i'm a Marine stationed in motivating 29 fuking Palms

  • haha 29 stumps..what a fuckin place

  • I love that "OFFICIALLY" remark!!! OUTSTANDING!!!

  • im a marine and i wouldnt do that it sucks

  • IM A MARINE AND THAT SHIT HURTS

  • Do they still do this?

  • Not really. To an extent, but this is big time hazing which doesn't happen.

  • OOHRAH!

  • You Army guys have no idea how bad ass the Corps is. Out of your league!! You'll "die" in USMC Boot Camp alone! 0333

  • im a marine and our fuckin corpsman are too anybody that says otherwise are fuckin POG BITCHES!

  • Corpsmen (Green-side Sailors) are bad ass, too. They subject themselves to the same training.

  • don't know if my last one went through or not. turisas, were you some kind of a pog?? i wasn't in recon, but my corpsman got shot at right along side of me in fallujia, and even went on top of a building full of hostiles with a stretcher to extract a wounded Marine, he helped me load and clean my crew served guns and I think he even participated helping me earn my Cpl. chevrons, which hurt but wasn't as brutal as what these guys are doing.

  • Hell yeah. Corpsman are freaking warriors in my book. In Iraq, our corpsmen were always just as pumped up to get into firefights, just as much as the Marines.

  • its something odd and I don't understand it. but I suppose if its a tradition...

  • the toughest tradition

  • Looks like fun. Ooh-rah

  • OUTSTANDING my Recon brothers!!!

  • USMC ICT.. then 0311, once you get past that and a couple trips up mt mother fucker then see if your balls are that big. These guys have there SSN's tatoo on there peck and its not for looks these are true machines.

to all the devil dogs SF...bo.1391.7th bat.

  • I had my dog tags tattooed on my chest, even though I was only 0331. Getting tattoos like that doesn't mean you're a machine, just not careful enough.

  • If I recall correctly it was about 18. Got lucky that the DA Plt and R & S were on deployment. I happened to be assigned to the DRP when I got my Gold Wings.

  • I know a guy who was in Recon during Vietnam (thats the story I was told anyhow). He's 68 years old, 5'7" I'm 16 and almost 6' and KNOW better to mess with him... and every other Marine for that matter.

  • I,m sure every unit has there different traditions, since it took ten jumps to get gold wings we did ten. Then pinned your self ten. How many times did you get pinned? I've been to pinnings with 30+ gold wingers. did you also have the $110 each bar tab from the ons getting pinned?

  • Aww, they don't do these anymore? I was actually starting to look forward to it :P

  • Hey ZZmax1 i got pinned by everyone that was a gold winger not just ten devil dogs. I got mine in Okinawa when Force was at Hansen.

  • Can someone explain to me why this isn't stupid?

  • Every elite hardcore job has a hazing, it reinforces comradeship. Military, cops, paramedics, firefighters, all have a hazing. It's called cloistering.

So,do something that takes some balls then tell me if you think this is stupid.

    Yah fuckin' dink.

  • Nobody said it wasn't stupid. It may be stupid to you but to these warriors it is an important "family tradition" that they gladly partake. If it was something easy you probably wouldn't think it stupid but then they wouldn't do it (something easy). It's gotta be hard and for no logical reason in order to test and grow their faith in each other.....it's not stupid to me.

  • Is this also done to the corpsman?

  • never heard of that

  • yes corpman go through the same training and inniciations. And if the wings fall off after the punch, guess what they have to get pinned into your skin again and get hit once more time...

  • No, not at all. Corpsman are our brothers, but we don't partake in hazing with them. They may be our brothers, but they're still not Marines.
