Your fingers are gonna hurt for a while. Everyones fingers hurt like that. To keep the popping noise away curve your fingers and make sure part of one finger isn't resting on another string. Hope I am helping

hey I have a question about strumming chords with pick... I'm using thiner pick (as far as I know, thiner picks are for chord struming) but every time I strum a chord, besides the sound of the chord, I can also hear my pick "hitting" each string along the sound, am I doing something wrong or is that normal?
