If we feed our children, health care cost go down, grades go up. Our children are our wealth. Invest early and often in the most primal need, food. And isn't it more humane? Most Africans are subsistence farmers. The problem is that they do not have any disposable income and have nobody to turn to if their crops fail or they get a disease. They are not sitting around in villages starving all the time. They live like medieval Europeans, and unfortunately, share the values of medieval Europeans. :P
How were they more advanced? Medieval Europeans had lots of kids, died young, and were dirt poor. 90% were illiterate subsistence farmers living in mud huts. Most of the rest lived in slums in cities.

If we feed our children, health care cost go down, grades go up. Our children are our wealth. Invest early and often in the most primal need, food. And isn't it more humane? Sacrifices are not the only way. Think about our population. It's mind bogglingly excessive. We don't need to send food, we need to control the population. And we certainly wont accomplish that with contraception. The only way to do that is to stop making excess food.

@NYCsPLAYA Although in some cases that may hold true there are approximately 50.2 million americans that suffer from chronic food insecurity. I think that it is somewhat ignorant to assume any one group of people could be the cause of world hunger. Also we should take into account that as a whole America gives the most amount of foreign aid. Generally I am a skeptic in regards to America but I just like having the facts before making assumptions and giving credit where credit is due.

What most people fail to understand is that our governments have the resources and capital to eradicat many of the contemporary issues facing Africa, in particular poverty. But of course it's much easier to sit back and complain. Being human is to caste aside our racial, religious and cultural diferences and extend a hand to those in need.

If you come from a western country, and have food in your belly, than you should be content and SHUT THE FUCK UP. I think a big problem is people are having children that shouldn't. If you live in a poverty stuck village and you are starving, why would you bring 3 or 4 children into that misery? It just becomes a greater burden. I believe we need to not only send food and medicine, but education about this concept they don't grasp and VOLUNTARY vasectomies. The most humane action is not to bring the innocent into these circumstances.

Most Africans are subsistence farmers. The problem is that they do not have any disposable income and have nobody to turn to if their crops fail or they get a disease. They are not sitting around in villages starving all the time. They live like medieval Europeans, and unfortunately, share the values of medieval Europeans. :P

How were they more advanced? Medieval Europeans had lots of kids, died young, and were dirt poor. 90% were illiterate subsistence farmers living in mud huts. Most of the rest lived in slums in cities.

at my church, we have a big church dinner every month, and this month, the youth was over it, which includes me.
So this month was world hunger emphasis month. so what better way to get the point across then go hungry. we served nothing but oodles'n'noodles and water.
we watched this video before we ate. i thought it was very sad that people left to go eat elsewhere when they found out we were having noodles. i wanted to burst out screaming.
