what he is basically saying is that 2 strokes are better for freestyle because the powervalve allows a rapid amout of power to be released from the engine, whereas on a 4 stroke you only have a continous ratio making them seem choked up in mid air, 4 strokes are better suited to motocross and supermoto.

difference in 2 stroke and 4 stroke are that a 2 strokes spark plug fires on every rotation of the crank and a 4 strokes sparkplug fires on every 2nd stroke of the crank.. 2 strokes dont last as long because of this and have power from mid range to top end.. 4 strokes last longer but have more mechanical parts and new mx 4 strokes last just as long as 2 strokes in a sense but when they blow up they are much more expensive to rebuild then 2 strokes
