A really good intro to Rocky Balboa! However with all due respect, if I were Stallone (which of course I'm not) I'd say its damn good but would need with this idea in mind to try following proper precident set by earlier movies like Rocky IV for example. The very end of Rocky III (sparring match that dissolved into the painting before end credits) began the 4th movie.
In this case, that'd mean in Rocky V after the fight with "Measure of a Man" playing during recap where Rocky beats Tommy Gunn then his manager, viewers begin Balboa seeing Rocky and Robert walk into the museum. "As long as that thing is there (the statue) pigeons will always have a place to sit." Then after that scene, disolve to the statue not being there today with nothing but overcast skies and foley sound effect of cold air. To me, that'd be poetic and set the dark tone for Rocky Balboa.
