  • the poem itself is very beautiful, but she puts it up a notch with her haunting voice.

  • Omg, that first picture looks like Helen Mirren??

  • it a poem by W.B. Yeats put to song

  • Conoce la historia de ésta canción en unaantiguamusa blogspot com

  • Realy one of the best version..i like the dualvoicelayer...makes this song more powerfull..Loreena..u have a angelvoice!!!:)

  • I much prefer her live versions; they're much stronger vocally, as well as in composition. But the baying hounds are a nice touch.

  • I would gladly "come away"

The world is more full of weeping...especially now.

    Beautiful and haunting.

  • come TO the water... reject the caution of those who claim you are theirs but are really strangers

  • nice photo @ 2:10

  • whats up with the dogs barking in the beginning?

  • I think (with the lyrics in mind) that the dogs are part of a human child rescue/search party to bring him back before the faeries take him away...and with the dogs barking at the end, I always thought that the search party came just a split second too late. I love this song! <3

  • Beautiful video! We are all angels of LOve here on mother Earth.

    Thank you!

    In Love wit all

  • Thank you for your very sweet and tender words!

  • Beautiful video!

  • lol. i don't think she wrought this. I have it in a old Irish faerie book. and it matches the song word for word. She sang it beautifully.

  • :) You are correct; Loreena did not write the words. Part of her style is taking old English poems and tales, and turning them into songs. She turned the "highway man","bonnie Swans and "lady of shallot" into songs and does them very well. It was actually this particular aspect of her style that got me hooked on her style. I think its a nifty idea taking old poems and ballads and turning them into songs for today's listeners. Glad you enjoyed it! Loreena is an incredibly talented individual!

  • The lyrics are actually a poem by W.B.Yeats.

  • ???? yeah??? is it the same title?? I like printing all of the songs/poems loreena mckennit sings and then....I try to sing along haha

  • Yes Loreena McKennitt is Canadian off Irish and Scottish extraction. Great voice.

    Excellent video !

Thank you for sharing this with us.

  • Beautiful song and video...thankyou :)

  • Loreena McKennitt always gets it right. A Canadian Celtic goddess perhaps?

  • *smile* Truly yes a goddess of music if not a Canadian celtic one :)

  • She was born near Winnipeg and sings beautiful ethereal, medieval- sounding songs

(like no one else does that I am aware of). I would go with "Celtic" but perhaps that's too narrow a definition?

  • A real 'lucky find' - this beautiful song always hits the spot - thanks....keith

  • This si very nice. Thank you. :-)

  • BLESSED BE !!!!!!!

  • I love it. Where did you get the picture at 2:09?
