And this video should make people choose Psychology?!?! The only message that comes across to me is "Come to Keele, we are here to help you with all your stats problems". Where is the bit telling people what Psychology is about? The juicy research? The interesting experiments? That's what people want to know and what attracts them. Has the maker of this video any passion for their own research?
Sorry if the balance of the video doesn't seem right - we tried to find out what potential applicants most want from a 2-3 minute 'snap-shot' of a Unversity Department, and the feedback we received was that a sense of the place, whether the staff really cared about the students, and whether the students raved about it, were the most important things (and we think Keele really excels in these areas).
Going on the Psychology Website and visiting the School on Open/Visit Days should give a good feel for the vibrancy of psychology at Keele, and the exciting research on topics in (for example) behavioural and cognitive psychology.
It is a nice video to show on visit days in the psych.lab but not really promotional to encourage new students on facebook
