I use Chlor Floc Water purification tablets and use my pouch for the "7-10" minute wait time and then pull the plug and use a cloth over my Camelback for the "strain through cloth" part works great for me I love your idea of using it as a faucet for washing.

That might be okay if all you intend to do is wash your hands. But I think this was just a demonstration of the concept.

Ideally you would try to avoid contaminating the water in the pouch so it could still be used for ther things.
