The story of Gilgamesh is a real masterpiece. As Solomon's book, It talks about the vanity of riches and materialism . He built an empire, his name became known, but now his friend Enkidu is dead and he feels he will end the same. He feels his greedy life was a big nothing. and sails for the real meaning of life. He refuses like a lion to surrender to the spirit of this world that teaches 'eat and drink cause tomorrow you are no more'. The waters of the Flood washed away vanity.
Gilgamesh story is amazing. The Flood account it contains is a real event. All the cultures say that Bronze age of giants was destroyed by Flood. We are now at the end of Iron Age.

If the flood happened, it's only logical that different tribes and peoples would pass down the story from generation to generation, resulting in many many many flood myths all over the world.

@tripletrules....If there was a flood and all were killed except for Noah and his brood, then how did we get the distinct races we have today? People are different looking by skin, bone, and hair. There was not enough time to pass for that kind of difference to evolve in humans.

The World was globalised from day one in the sense that we are all out of africa and there was very significant international trade in the stone iron age. In tablet XI of the epic of gilgamesh Lapus Lasulae is mentioned, which had to have come from Afghanistan. In some ways the ancient World was more globalised than now, so it would have been very likely that legends spread from place to place, and far less probably that there was one global flood.

The flood account was local to the fertile crescent. It involved their river overflowing and flooding their fields, towns Zuisudra (also known as Utnapishtim) went for a very brief ride on a trde barge that had sheep and goats still aboard! When the ride was over, he sacrificed an animal on top of a Ziggurat . Look it up online.

The story of Moses is a fable; you can even go to the creation story and see that is a fable also. Look the Pharaoh had no name, all of Egypt’s animals should have died in the first pestilence, and no one can live in the stomach of any animal. Breathing air or water take your pick! Even if there was a flood I don't see a causal connection between a flood and a God. I mean I could make up a religion tomorrow and say there was a tsunami in japan and it was because God. All you did was take an event and tack on God. Now what you have said about prophecy that is irrelevant as it did not occur in our time and is therefore has no predicative import. Who from that time is alive to validate that claim, and say "yah all that stuff predicted came true."

Then, when He just about get up the hill with his friends and all the hill turns into a mud slide, Avalanche style, The sediments would then either destroy them, or cover them in various different ways. The bigger boned animals would have been easier to spot when digging up Fossils.

These layers were laid down level, block faulted into mountains, worn flat, and then the Teapeats Sandstone was laid down over it. When a Miskito, mouse get squished, or rabbit, or even humans to a certain extent get crushed under a mud slide, they usually get wiped into nothing if it is deep at all. The bigger boned animals would be much more likely to sustain the abuse to leave a bit more of a trace of existence. You have to admit at some point this could of been a flood. I have observed with my own EYES the natural process does not create a different specie other than one specie say BIRDS. So for a few hundred years one breed might make a line, call it, Blue jays. Then a few hundred years later after that specie is defined and consistent, then one couple mixes with line, call it Red cardinal by fluke of some mate issue. You would have a new Bird Specie.

@manillas2 I do not read websites. I have Codexes I spent money on, and I read Interlinear bibles (Ancient Codexes with direct word for word translations beneath each Hebrew or Greek word). So I devote my time to studying God's word, and do not ridicule other religions. I simply try to help people see the light, without insulting them, or assuming wrong things that they "read pagan sights". I do not read christian material besides the Bible and the Watchtower study edition from my friend.

If the flood happened, it's only logical that different tribes and peoples would pass down the story from generation to generation, resulting in many many many flood myths all over the world.

After the flood, when the different languages came into existence, groups that spoke one language moved away with others of the same language. In doing so, the gene pool for a specific group shrank dramatically as the group no longer had the entire human population to mix with. Closer inbreeding took place, and in time certain features were emphasized in these different groups (all of which were present as a possibility in the genetic code).

@manillas2 The only reason J is used in Biblical names such as, "Jared" and "Joshua" is because in old English, the "J" made the Y sound. The "V" was often used in place of a "U". this is outdated.... What you said does not prove anything... It just proves that English speakers used archaic versions of names that do not apply. If your name was John, and Since I am from Germany, what if I called you Johan? That means the same thing in German.... But your name would be in fact John, not Johan.

@manillas2 God's name isn't "Jehovah", it is infact "YHWH". There is no Hebrew letter "J". But there is a Hebrew letter for "Y". YaHWeH sounds nothing like jeHovaH. The name "Jehovah" comes from "YHWH" changed to "JHVH" and the vowels added from "Adonai".

Anyone with half a brain can recognize that if even tribal cultures have flood myths then most of them have been oral at least in one point in time. All the flood myths occur because of the last melt back of the two mile high glacier that covered a majority of planet earth finished melting around 15000 years ago, the bible picks up at 4000BCE. The Sumerians epoch was 8000BCE Do the math. Noah's flood was 3500BCE, and was the Black sea filling up when water from the Mediterranean forced it's way through.

Noah was from Terran Iran, that is on the Black sea. What a coincidence? Native flood myths come from the Wisconsin Glacier melting back as each indigenous group near enough to see this melt back and all of the water it produced would have created a myth to rationalize what they saw. Word of mouth explains why there are so many similarities in the story telling, read a few books other then the bible.
