The creator of Final Fantasy teaming up with the manga artist of Slam Dunl/ Vagabond in a video game. It was just completely ausome, the artwork was extreamly good a lot better than Final Fantasy's artwork so disrespect. Inoue, should be a game artist for more games because his art is just beyond amazing it's god like.
This is the game that I would re-buy, if I ever bought another 360 again. It's a instant classic, and 9-10 by far the last best rpg of it's time. I would even go as far too say it's better than FF13. I ROTFL@ whoever Greavern was replying too.
I like this game, its made by the FF team, but what I like is, they have took time to make a great RPG for Xbox, instead of just churning out another FF game ported. Lost Odessey has battles that are tough and require thought, its dream sequences are very well-scripted. It may need 4discs but, thats like 40hrs gameplay. It can feel abit cliched at times, and it does have some slight frame-rate issues, but overall, I think this is a really good game.

@SOF2Marine Sakaguchi and Uematsu are good friends that been there since it was THE final fantasy. In short, Sakaguchi was getting less and less creative control over the projects and Uematsu wanted to try new things. Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts are like the last games (in SE) that he was really involved in. In general, FF1-3 are considered archaic for some gamers (left only for the hardcore), FF4-9 is considered golden age, FFX is the last "great" FF, and FFX-2+ are all experiments.

FF needs to have the epic turn based battles back just like this game does... but than again, sakaguchi was involved in this game so i guess i can see why i like it's style so much.

@ChugomichaelStudios I like games that require strategy but don't stop all the action and take you out of the game experience by making you stand there and have hit points. Oblivion, Mass effect, fable, and fallout 3 are all great games that have good action, but not repetitive button mashing sequences, and tell a much better story at the same time.

Seriously, it depends on what you're looking for in an RPG. If you like them for the gameplay, western rpgs are probably the way to go. If you love RPGs for their stories, character development, and musical scores, nothing tops Japanese rpgs. Personally, Lost Odyssey is at the top of my gaming chart this gen.

You have no idea how many times I watched this video a year before Lost Odyssey came out. When I first saw the trailer with I thought LO was going to be like God of War but I was soo surprised when the game suddenly turned into an RPG @ 3:30. I noticed that the music sounded familiar and I looked up information on the game and found it it was composed by Nobuo and made by old school square members. I was so excited because all I ever wanted was a next-gen RPG game with the style of older FF's.

The game starts off slow but will get pretty fast and heavy and explosive once you reach CD 2+. In CD 1 its a bit slow and you have few characters, but you just play along and see later, when you learn the big action animated moves and spells.
If they put half as much effort into the game play as they put into the cutscenes, it might be a great game. It goes from great action like a FPS or 3rd person, to slow turn-based shit. Like the army would stand there and let you think shit out. This would incredible if it was FPS style of 3rd person.
Ahh... If you really really suck and just get to play 2 times a month, you could probaly spend months on it... BUT: Final Fantasy is a game you can play over and over again :)

Honestly? so far I'd say that Both Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy are Excellent games. I've played FF's 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, and 12, and I gotta say that most of those were great games (10-2 was stupid as hell). I was very impressed with Lost Odyssey so far though I haven't made it past the first disk yet. Graphics are amazing, some of the characters and stories are very well written and done. but it's still not FF. Great game definitely and well worth the cost, but it's....not the same

Seriously, it depends on what you're looking for in an RPG. If you like them for the gameplay, western rpgs are probably the way to go. If you love RPGs for their stories, character development, and musical scores, nothing tops Japanese rpgs. Personally, Lost Odyssey is at the top of my gaming chart this gen.

You have no idea how many times I watched this video a year before Lost Odyssey came out. When I first saw the trailer with I thought LO was going to be like God of War but I was soo surprised when the game suddenly turned into an RPG @ 3:30. I noticed that the music sounded familiar and I looked up information on the game and found it it was composed by Nobuo and made by old school square members. I was so excited because all I ever wanted was a next-gen RPG game with the style of older FF's.

By the way, for you people who seem interested but is wondering things or judging the game by this movie.
The game starts off slow but will get pretty fast and heavy and explosive once you reach CD 2+. In CD 1 its a bit slow and you have few characters, but you just play along and see later, when you learn the big action animated moves and spells.

If they put half as much effort into the game play as they put into the cutscenes, it might be a great game. It goes from great action like a FPS or 3rd person, to slow turn-based shit. Like the army would stand there and let you think shit out. This would incredible if it was FPS style of 3rd person.

Ahh... If you really really suck and just get to play 2 times a month, you could probaly spend months on it... BUT: Final Fantasy is a game you can play over and over again :)

Microsoft wanted a FF game, but square enix said no... so they just made their on game and tried to make it like Final Fantasy... But it didn´t get even as near as good as the real Final Fantasy... The Gameplay just isn´t that fast and exciting as the real Final Fantasy...

Honestly? so far I'd say that Both Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy are Excellent games. I've played FF's 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, and 12, and I gotta say that most of those were great games (10-2 was stupid as hell). I was very impressed with Lost Odyssey so far though I haven't made it past the first disk yet. Graphics are amazing, some of the characters and stories are very well written and done. but it's still not FF. Great game definitely and well worth the cost, but it's....not the same

I have Lost Odyssey, it isn't as good as Final Fantasy 6,7,8,9 but its better than 10, 10-2, and 12. Lost Odyssey is a great game with a very nice story, specially when you enter CD 2 and start to get REAL animation attacks.

Lost Odyssey is NOT a ripp off of the real FF games at all, it IS the FF creator Hironobu Sukagachi who made FF that also made Lost Odyssey, and that is why it looks alot alike. Its his own creaton and system for both FF and Lost Odyssey. And that is exactly why Lost Odyssey owns.

Wether the game is good as FF or not was NOT the subject of this decision. Don't try to change it, the subject was if it was a FF RIP OFF OR NOT. And NO it isn't. I said earlier it isn't as good as FF 6,7,8,9 and i honestly don't think any game will be in the future. However Lost Odyssey is much better than most games, even if it isn't better than FF 6,7,8,9, it is still better than many many games out there. You can't reject a game because it isn't as good as FF. Lost Odyssey is very very good.

i got a ps2,psp & a 360 ive never touched a ps3 controller the play.i only got 3 games COD4 GOW & Assasins COD4 & assasins creed R a on the ps3.assasins creed SUCKED so bad that i stopped playin it the 1st day i got it,COD4 was the greatest game ive played so far & GOW is the second.the xbox 360 lost far cry 2,bioshock,& many other games while the ps3 lost gta4,DMC4 etc is actually the xbox 360 thats losin exclusive cause if u think about it ps3 still has mgs4,RFOM,uncharted,KZ2,GOW3 & many more
