  • Hey Chuck,

    I am a 2 handicap and I have a question...

What makes the hiss that you hear in like a 3 wood shot, I know it's compression but, I would like to know if that is when the club is coming into the ground steeper or if it's more along the ground? Thanks

  • @shapoopydoopy It's all about compression and a square strike. That creates high initial ball speed and that's what creates the hissing sound.

  • @cquinton Then how come some times when you hit it really far it doesn't hiss? I love the sound but is there some way to get it everytime?

  • @shapoopydoopy I'm sure there is some physics expert that may have some technical explanation for this, but I think one thins is that because the ball is coming off the face much faster and moving down range faster, there is less time to hear it. As an example, I've followed Tiger around at the Tavistock Cup where you're standing only a few feet away from him on every shot and on longer shots, the sound of the swoosh of the swing and the impact, especially with the driver is sometimes louder....

  • @cquinton ....than the hissing of the ball. However, stand 30 or 40 yards down range of the same shot and you definitely hear the hiss.

  • @cquinton So what youre are saying is when the ball is moving a little faster you can hear it as much or if it moves faster down range you hear it more? I have heard good players that hit the ball way far have the hiss on like their 6 iron. I just want to know how I could get that hiss a lot more often.

  • @shapoopydoopy The key to hearing this sound is truly simply solid, square contact with the club delofted. If done correctly, you can even hear this on 50 yard punch shots.

  • @cquinton What is the highest lofted club that you hear that hiss we were talking about?

  • RST is simple & effective! I encourage anyone who wants to improve their ball striking, should try-out Rotary Swing, especially beginners & high handicappers.

  • i like the tool but i tend to bring the club inside and was wondering if the RST connect would help with that i do try to practice the perfect takeaway but its that middle point where i think is fine and bring it up the club and its not on plane. thank you

  • I currently work at a golf club, they have teaching academy (N1golf who have 22 schools in UK). We will be having our regular 6 month seminar in 2wks time. I will approach the owner/founder, with proposal to get you over here.

On a personal note, I'd like to send you some vids of my swing for you to analyze, through the appropriate channels etc. I have a tendency to get shaft steep at start of downswing and then an early extension to shallow shaft for impact. I,ve tried less forearm rotation

  • @colonelsanders007 Take a look at our online lessons page and that's where you can upload your swings for review.

  • Hi Chuck,

I am a PGA pro based in South West England. I've played on tour but now mainly teach. I have two questions which I hope you can answer.

    1. Where or how can I get one of these aids?.

    2. Will you at any time be visiting the UK to do a seminar?.

    Many thanks

    Mark

  • @colonelsanders007 Hi Mark. You can order the training aid on our website. As for coming over to the UK, it's something that we've discussed many times but haven't done yet. We're always open if someone like yourself wants to look at helping put it together.

  • totally agree.....just not a method guy. you can teach skills without sacrificing a players style

  • hmmm.....fantastic drill if you want to fit this model.....not so good for upright paths or guys that cross the line and either recover or are simply body align left of their intended path......Jack, Freddy, Daly, Fuzzy, and Raymond Floyd would all fail this test.....and they did alright.

  • @1982tomwilson That's the whole point. RST is a model that is much simpler than all the golfers you mentioned. There's a reason you don't see instructors trying to replicate Floyd's swing in their students!

  • are these avaiable in the Uk? cant find them on any website.

  • @BirdieBlues we ship them to the UK via the website, rotaryswing com /connect

  • Nice video thanks. I always take it too inside and then come over the top. Hopefully this helps
