1/2 Main Out 3/4 Cue, you. You also maybe need to press the A/B button to hear something in the Headphone.

Does it really matter if the beatmatching is done by the DJ or software as long as the dj's set is programmed well, mixed good, and gets a good response from the audience? I've heard dj's who can beatmatch vinyl throwdown crappy sets and dj's who use software like Traktor play amazing sets. When it comes down to it, the skills of the dj will show in the quality of their performance regardless of who/what does the beatmatching.

Question, why didn't you just beatgrid the tracks properly and use the auto-sync function instead of trying to beat match using the pitch sliders? Just seems like the harder way to do it when you can let Traktor beatmatch for you, allowing you to focus on other things like efx and loops. Just a recommendation as that's how I use it.

I don't know. Was it? Obviously if Native Instruments designed this function into the program, it can be used in this manner. In fact, I know of at least a dozen international big DJ's who do this with Traktor. I used to be a die-hard vinyl addict and swore off DVS systems. Now that I've had the time to really experiment with Traktor, going back to the "old ways" seems like devolving to me. I still love and collect vinyl but Traktor is my performance choice.

Why is that cheating? Every technology goes through growth and advancement. Early producers of techno/house who used only outboard analog gear called all the computer-based musicians cheaters too but now computers pretty much dominate the entire music industry. And is it cheating if I avoid having to focus on beatmatching to instead give my audience a more fulfilling and complete musical experience which is what they came for? I spun on vinyl for 13 years before going digital so I paid my dues.

No, it`s just a MIDI-Controller, you also need a Audio Interface (or 2-Channel Soundcard)

If you buy the Traktor Scratch Pro package, it comes with the Audio 8 DJ soundcard. It's an excellent soundcard IMO and has a dedicated headphone output that you can assign from the VCI-100. I have one and love it.

It`s 5.5 ms with ASIO, but you can go lower I think. I didn`t experience any latency problems on my 1.8 Ghz Laptop with 512 MB RAM.

I'm running the Audio 8 DJ that comes with the Traktor Pro/Scratch Pro bundles and Traktor defaults to 5.5ms for a good balance of stability and performance. I can set the latecy lower but have no need to. Things run perfectly fine for me. My laptop: 2.16 Core2Duo, 4gigsDDR. Never so much as a hiccup or jitter in performances.

if you're using traktor 3, refer to preferences - output routing Monitor(Mono) Left (Mono)- must be your out1: Right- must be your out2: that is your headphones.. Master Left(Mono)- should be your out3: Right- should be your out4: make sure that your Master and Phone Volume is at the 12 to 4 o clock position! and lastly.. dont forget that cueing is not possible without hitting the "Cue botton" :) this is simple and basic, but, it may screwed you up! enjoy! have fun mixing guyz!

Hi, i use M-Audio Fattrack Pro USB as audio-interface. The VCI-100 ist just a Controller so you need a two channel soundcard or a audio-interface. All this is connected to an anicent 1,9 Ghz Laptop with 512 MB RAM.

Hi I got M-Audio Fastrack Pro USB Interface, it has a Headphone Jack. As far as I know the Audio8 got also one. At the Fastrack Chanel 3/4 is the Main Out, while 1/2 is the Headphone.

Then you need to turn the Mix Knob all the way up. Maybe you need to play around with the InputMode on the Audio8, I don`t know exactly because I haven`t got one, but it should work somehow.

Hey I've got the same problem as well. I've go the audio 8 DJ w the VCI -100. I can't listen on the headphones for cueing. were you able to solve your problem? if so how did you do it?

havent solved it yet, but i have managed to send separate channels on the audio 8 to an external miver, thats how i cue. Vci-100 just serves for browsing and playing the tracks , i have to use the xixer to cue as on regular decks
