  • so oxnard was actully speaking french before spanish? so your saying the hispanics wernt the original Founders? lol

  • Looks like all you have to do is get the candles out along with your oil for the lamp. Typical California thinking. Don't build it in my back yard. Yet you want to sue the crap out of pipeline companies that don't run at a 100% capacity for safety reasons.. Get real. Respectfully rj1522

  • So don't use natural gas? Stop the demand. Hypocrites!

  • I don't see what the problem is. Take a look around you and find an equally hazardous situation within shouting distance. Crossing the street, the interstate, a snow storm, a shower that could burn you, or the chemical factory in the next town to the west.

Secondly, I would have compensated Borla for this inconvenience by letting them build it (it's a car-guy joke).

  • Engineers have to prevent a New Mexico disaster in my home city Oxnard. I pass through the back fields often.

  • How long has this proposed pipeline been an issue? I have been out to Oxnard/Ventura a number of times over the years and have not heard anything about this.

  • The BHP Billiton Proposal was defeated in April. There is another proposal to build an LNG facility on platform Grace and run a pipeline through Oxnard that way.

  • Fear of the cost of renewable energy is not a valid reason to do nothing. Our hands are not tied. There are a host of bright people with solutions to our energy problems.

  • Its not a fear...but a reality of technological development. Right now it is not economically feasible...otherwise we would already have it.

  • There were no seat belts in automobiles until it was forced upon the car companies. There have been millions of lives saved since. As for renewable energy, we will have it, if we demand it. Look what's happened to the price of plazma television sets. i don't think a solar panel is that complicated.

  • That would need to be a policy driven by politics....I am looking at it from a free market point of view.

  • There is no free market. It is controlled by companies who like having former Enron traders run their operations.

  • Ok. Let's bring an end to the fossil fuel madness. SO what SOLUTIONS do you have? Economicly feasible solutions? IF the market had cheap renewable energy at this point in time...wouldn't we already be using it?

  • Wind turbines and solar technology look great on paper, and amuse people in conversations...but the technology isn't there.....and even if it were....it would be difficult to distribute everything quickly....Rather than saying NO to coal powerplants...and now NG...come up with realistic solutions to meet the energy needs of all the people in your community...including yourself.

  • There is more than enough domestic natural gas to last for decades. wind solar wave and other sources of power will come on line. Fools that continue to cling to fossil fuels as the future of mankind will be forgotten.

  • The technology will come. More and more wind farms have arisen in the midwest. It's not unrealistic. There's plenty of space for them here in oxnard.

  • Wind turbines and solar energy might be in the future...or maybe not. But we need to think about near term solutions for our energy needs. NG is cleaner than Coal. Conservation will only go so far....as people conserve..they have money to spend elsewhere which consumes energy to make products etc. As long as economies are growing....we will use more energy...and our economy does not do well when it isn't expanding...which is a recession...or depression.

  • haha. Fossil fuels + Newton has enabled humans to live so well. We have electricty, cars, plumbing etc which have increased the age of human life considerably. Fossil fuels in part is a large reason why the human population has gone from the long sustainable 2 billion to over 6 billion today....and will be over 9 billion in the near future. I see everyone using energy and power, but oppose any infastructure to supply future demand.

  • Great video. Thank you.

  • thats bull shit fuck that.thay got to stop that.

  • OXANRD STAND UP!!!

  • Informative and chilling. Well done.

  • We can wait 50 years for solar power to actually become feasible while we keep rapidly ruining our environment, fighting the incremental advances that have formed the basis for human progress through history. Think about all of the slow, quiet deaths and injuries that come about as the result of dirtier air - not as exciting as massive fireballs, but I'd rather have 50 years of LNG than 50 years of coal and oil waiting for the magic pill...

  • I suggest you watch the case against lng parts 1-4 you will discover that we don't need LNG. that should really make you happy.

  • I watched the 4 parts, still not convinced that we don't need LNG in CA - why not stabilize our energy sources - at least until the whole country is powered by solar? Sure conservation is the best way, but conservation in concert with exploring all energy possibilities seems logical to me. What do you think?

  • want your lng? have them put it in your back yard

  • I'll take LNG over Coal anyday....and that proposal isn't exactly in anyones backyard.

Let's come to a realization here....energy is needed...if you feel LNG isn't the answer...maybe your community could solve it. Throw in the solar panels or wind turbines all over the place in your backyard and you guys can pay the extra cost for manufacturing it...and maintaining it.

    Sound good?

  • We don't use coal in California. fossil fuels are responsible for GREEN HOUSE GASSES! Cabrillo Port is a flawed design that has been rejected by the State Lands Commission and the Coastal Commission. Why do you deny the facts? It is time to listen to the scientific community, not spin from the fossil fuel industry.

  • Same struggle, different country! Let's bring an end to the fossil fuel madness...
