its actually possible to make game contests AND battles more like in the anime you know, eith dodging (actually, in the Pokéwalker u can do that), special moves collisions, maybe jumping its really possible ill tell you how some other time im busy right now

I really like the contests when appeared on the series. I didnt like them in the games though. Maybe its because I barely won them lol

The Pokemon Contests are exactly why I don't like Hoenn and Sinnoh as much as I did Kanto and Johto.

Why?

They spend about 1 or 2 Episodes on a Gym Battle for Ash.

They spend about 3 on the DUMB POKEMON CONTESTS!

Although, I must admit they make up for it at the Pokemon League. Like, 3 episodes for one battle...

But then they spend to long on the Grand Festival!

Plus, May/Dawn wins every time. Whereas, Ash DOESN'T! They concentrate WAY too much on contests.

That's MY opinion, anyway.

@nayruwisdom Well, as for May and Dawn winning every time, they always win regular contests, and earn ribbons. As for ash, he wins gym battles, and earns the badges. May and Dawn have lost the grand festival, as for ash, he loses the leagues every time.

Ash never wins because he's going to be around forever, unlike his female companions. However, neither Dawn or May have won their Grand Festival, which is equivalent to the league for Ash, so they technically are still on the same level.

The GF is just as rushed as the league and the contests themselves have multiple contestants, unlike a gym match that's 1v1, so there are more episodes dedicated to contests, but the battles are just as short. There is no comparison.
