Why the lies about Obama's appointment?

From the NYT article:

Mr. Ayers played no role in Mr. Obamas appointment.

Instead, it was suggested by Deborah Leff, then president of the Joyce Foundation, at a lunch with two other foundation heads, Patricia A. Graham of the Spencer Foundation and Adele Simmons of the MacArthur Foundation.

Ms. Graham invited Mr. Obama to dinner ... and was impressed.

At the end of the dinner I said, I really want you to be chairman. He said, Ill do it".

Ayers is a bogus issue, raised by Republicans who can't defend their record.

Morris ignores the truth.

Obama was asked by community leaders in Chicago to head a board that oversaw a large grant that Ayers had won funding for.

Obama did that job well and, in the process, won the respect of his board and the Chicago community.

If Morris cared, he'd know "Obama Has Met Ayers, but the Two Are Not Close". Google it.
