Just another superb example of Buckethead's range and virtuosity. I have not heard any other guitarist with such range, emotion, power, originality - as Buckethead. Simply the BEST.
Finally, a video with zero thumbs down. Here's a curse that shall fall upon whoever dislikes this for the first time: thy genitals shalt convert to stone, thus ruinning thine coitus life for the rest of days.
pbbly the only bucket head song i like, slow melodic pace killswitch used correctly its a relly good song compared to his other stuff. not to disrespsect but jimi hendrix revolutionized guitar for rock industry in general, if not for him we would not have most of our modern day technuiques. buckethead did not invent the killswitch, it had been used before by tom morrello from RATM, his shredding came from yngwie malmsteen. Snow Bound By Arch Enemy Is good example of slow melodic guitar.
@tehperson666 his sweep shredding technuique if i can remember was also used by chris ammot, tapping of course goes back to eddie van hallen who revolutionized classic rock also in his own way. Bucket Head goes too technical with his music. For The Person who said that if buckethead was in the 60's jimi would never be heard of? buckethead wouldn't have the same technology and the 60's was laid back peacefull music, buckethead is more technical metal and would have been frowned apon.
@jonnyj0987654321 technically challenging does not mean good the only lightly complicated is the rythem, and keep in mind theirs a difference beetween being good and sounding good.
@tehperson666 Oh I know, that was my point, I'm a huge fan of Buckets softer work, atm Electric Tears and Shadows Between the Sky are my favourite albums.
@jonnyj0987654321 actually i got to thank you i didn't listen to much off of electric tears, but it's interesting reminds me of eric johnson/clapton sound to it tho varying dependent on the track carries an emotional charge like a child being abandoned by his parents and watching them drive a away leaving him cold in the rain.
@tehperson666 Dude, you buckethead has so many songs in so many genres that you can't base all his music into one type, you obviously don't listen to enough buckethead to criticize his music
@reaper147000 srry i don't just type stuff to get attention i do my research before hand i browsed through his discography and found nothing that sounded well good, although yes i agree that he does have a large selection of genres or as one of my friends had put it is a genre himself, i don't understand how his music has any thing good sounding in it. if anything i'd liek to close this discussion.
@tehperson666 alright, but i never said anything about typing shit in to get attention. Either way its your opinion, I just find it hard that you can't like at least a few buckethead songs.
@reaper147000 i do enjoy a few i just find a little anoying when people are over obssessed i've had alot of problems with people over this kinda stuff. However I respect your opinion.
good discussion .....reaper147000 and tehperson666.....I just disagree with tehperson666 ....about what you said (about buckethead)......"i browsed through his discography and found nothing that sounded well good"......I wont try to convince you but.....I disagree...if you could maybe....tell me what you listen to...i'll try to understand why you said that......maybe I've been missin something really good all my life, don't be selfish and share...don't get me wrong there is no sarcasm at all
@gooseaskreply not trying to be selfish lately i have been listening to most genres classical, jazz, blues, rap, rock, metal as i love music and always have. my two favourite musicians of all time are jimi hendrix, and nicolo paganini. reasons are because they influenced music entirely although classical music dates back beofere paganini the 24 caprices show a large impact on many modern guitarists like yngwie malmsteen which then influenced most metal guitar technuiques.
@tehperson666 physics states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. because of the civil war it left an impact on the on the black community and one of the ways not necissarily to express themselves they cam up with music using only acoustic instruments and their souls. hendrix was influenced as seen in his music but also the things he did like upside down playing and thumb rather than pick use on an electric can go to albert king.
@tehperson666 behind the head playing goes back to Tbone walker (1910 - 1975). jimi hendrix combined the blues soul and rythem with also fast paced hammer/pulloffs considering the time period of the 50's and 60's the beatles white album was making it's apearance and was completely different palying styles. jimi hendrix combined blues and jazz to create rock. you can see the influence on most artisist today even buckethead's version of maching gun can prove that he was a hendrix fan.
@tehperson666 because of the fact that he was playing with his thumb and playing a long less known hendrix song goes to show that he has prior knowledge of hendrix himself and shows that had a variety of musical knowledge. to me music is a progression and since the progression of technology we get fucking horrible shit like bieber and techno, modern music is dieing the music industry foccuses on guitar even the friends i have in the jazz industry state that they're loosing a considerable
@tehperson666 amount of jazz style bassists and that is one of the reasons i am thankfull for les claypool. because of the technilogical progression of music it bothers me that buckethead's music is going towards that. using killswitches delay distortion, although used by other guitarists i admire that that he's trying to change music however because of this i can see the future of music, all the good musicians are dying or dead. and i fear that the future of music will be just synthesizedsounds
hopefully not....(...."the future of music will be just synthesizedsounds" ), does anybody hates when you cant find the comment from the user the reply is refering to??....God I hate that!!....sorry again teh...hehe
@gooseaskreply I sorta gave up on alot of modern music as all it became a cancer on my mind. I walked into an HMV (a music store). The metal section's most adverized album was from BMTH, rap section had no big l, classical section was small and had very little, and the whole time i was there they played what sounded like a chorus effect on tremelo while someone who couldn't sing sang through a fan and i fell to the ground clutching my ears.
@tehperson666 You just need to look deeper for good music. There's always something you can enjoy out there, because thanks to technology so much more material can be put out there to the public. Also, what's advertised isn't always what's good. Look into more underground stuff and there's got to be something you'll like.
@Theblob516 I do try; i am familiar with Jesper Kyd's work, Ambient music, Dubstep, and a variety of technical play. However i'll choose Charlie Patton over substep infrabass any day. i'll continue my search in music until the day i die and be buried with my knowledge and my guitar. and thank you if you have any recommendations in the technical industry of music it would be appreciated.
@tehperson666 Off the top of my head I would recommend Charlie Hunter. He's a phenominal jazz guitarist who plays the lead and the bassline at the same time. Also John Frusciante has a lot of good solo work out there, especially his stuff with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. And bands like Sigur Ros and God is an Astronaut play beautiful music.
@tehperson666 Oh and I forgot if you haven't already you absolutely have to check out Tosin Abasi and some of his stuff. He's in the "band" Animals as Leaders, but in reality he writes and plays pretty much all of it.
I liked your comment "...being good and sounding good".....I do love classic and hendrix stuff.....almost every "kind of music"....since Im a musician.........at least I try to be......which instrument do u play?
when people will finally understand buckehead, technically speaking, is billion light years away from hendrix, if they both played at the same era, nobody would have ever heard about hendrix
get better BiGB and you cant compare 2 guys who wernt around at the same time jimi was the buckethead of the 70s but now there is only he who wears the mask
