Yes, it's difficult. Though I don't have such fundamentalists in my family, it hard as well to explain people why I don't believe in a supernatural deity or anything supernatural. Some of my family are very religious, however, many of my cousins are secular Christians that don't speak any of religion. Catholicism but then I turned into an Evangelical Christian and a Creationist. After that I began to study science and philosophy. I became into a more secular Christian accepting evolution and the Big Bang. After that I began my own skepticism on religion and turned into a Deist. However, I began to go deeper and transformed into a humanistic pantheist, or a spiritual humanist that only try to identify everything with reason and logic.

Yes, it's difficult. Though I don't have such fundamentalists in my family, it hard as well to explain people why I don't believe in a supernatural deity or anything supernatural. Some of my family are very religious, however, many of my cousins are secular Christians that don't speak any of religion. Nevertheless, my father is a fundamentalist Catholic(though he accepts evolution and the Big Bang), while my mother is some kind of believer that dislikes those who don't believe in god.

If you have not looked for evidence then absence of evidence does not really have a meaning, but if you have searched for it thoroughly and there is no shred of it to be found, that could be considered evidence of absence. In space we have not even begun to come anywhere close to making a conclusion if there is life or not. If religions were true we should have amassed a ton of evidence for it, so absence of evidence means something.

George carlin once said that Human beings have not come up with a belief system worth believing in yet. I totally agree, and that doesn't mean i put all my belief in Science either. Science doesn't have very many answers to the big questions either. Sense we don't know, trying to fill in the blanks with hopefull superstitions from the stone age doesn't do it for me. It detaches people from reality, causes sheepish behaviour, & opens you up to manipulations by sick & deluted people.

If god is omniscient, then there is no free will. Let me give you an example. I walk to a restaurant. God is omniscient, therefore he know I am going to the restaurant before I even thought on going to the restaurant. In other words, since he knows that is going to happen, there is no choice but to go there, as god knew I will go there.

Yes i know how they connected Jesus all the way back to Adam. What I'm saying is it starts with Jesus son of Joseph...when all the christians in the world believe that jesus was born of Mary as a virgin. Meaning his genes are not related to Joseph at all, therefore not related to David. His genes would be Mary's only and whatever the holy spirit gave to make him in particular.
