In other words the PRS Guitars weren't selling so I went back to Gibson.

@dvdfrnzwbr nah, Alex didn't switch for any reason other than making the best guitar sound ever... once again. THAT is why Rush is so listenable.

I happen to agree with him... having played both Gibson LP's and PRS I much prefer a good LP to ANY PRS. They just sound better, and the good ones play like butter.

That said, there are still things that you can ONLY do on a Strat, Tele, etc... so there will probably never be an "all-in-one" which is what PRS tried commendably to be.

I like it. It gives those of us who need a vibrato bar, but want to keep that Les Paul sound a good option, so we don't have to ruin a beautiful Les Paul by having a Floyd Rose installed.

Bout time Gibson finally produces a model with a Floyd Rose on it. Quite frankly, I don't know why anyone would choose a fixed bridge on a solid body electric guitar over one with a Floyd...so much more versatility. Piezo pick-up and pop-up pots are also interesting features to this guitar. Also very exciting to have Alex Lifeson of Rush's name on it...would love to have one! But with a price tag of $3,999...not likely.

@12345zxcvbnmasdfghjk "Peizos" pick up the actual string vibration in such a way that they can amplify it and produce the tone you would usually need a hollow-body acoustic guitar to get. They allow a player to either add the acoustic tone in as part of the mix (depending on how the rest of the wiring is set up) for extra warmth and richness or they can allow a player to switch between a classic acoustic tone to an electric sound and back again without having to switch instruments

I've just ordered one of these in Viceroy Brown - cost me just over £3000 in the UK, I can't afford it but I just had to have it, I would love to form a Rush tribute band one day- but it's not easy finding fellow band mates who share the same passion.

In some ways I'm glad it's expensive - and that it's really stretched me to buy it - it makes it all the more special and a more fitting tribute to one of the most creative guitarists of our generation.
