gbolcer - these characters are fictional. It's a joke. They're trying to get a portrait of America by getting 300 million folks in a single shot. Which is impossible. I think the point is, only the census can give us a complete picture of who we are as a nation. As far as privacy - according to the census website, census employees are sworn to protect our personal information with severe penalties if they share any of it - like going to prison for five years.
