On the radio program Coast to Coast last night, they had a 4-hour program dedicated to some suspected serial killer(s) doing people in on the long and lonely stretches of Nevada's I-80. A family member of an 86-year-old man that mysteriously vanished around April 14, along with the show's host and a cop investigating, took phone calls from people around the country and one person asked if the fellow's father was carrying a gun. The guy said he wasn't but that now ... all of his family "packs."

The most dangerous places to be out in public: Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, etc.. All with severe restrictions on guns, and cops all over the place. The safest places to be out in public: Wyoming, Montana, Kansas, Indiana, Georgia, etc, etc, with a gun in almost every household and virtually no cops around. People are the problem, not the guns they use.
The courts gotta keep the thugs in jail. The average term served for murder is only 8 years!

I love the irony. The one place you are most likely to get shot to death in Illinois is in Mayor Daley's "gun-free utopia." Daley has fought hard to keep law-abiding citizens disarmed, but apparently has no desire to take guns away from criminals.
