I was talking about the middle ages when poor people didn't go to school and couldn't read were taken advantage of by the wealthier and more intelligent Christians. Let us hypothesis that one religion is in fact true.
1) Most religions are mutually exclusive (it’s right, others are wrong).
2) There are 20 major religions right now (not going to count hundreds that have come and gone in history)
3) Simple math (we’ll assume you believe in math): 1 / 20 * 100 = 5%
So, no matter who you are or what your religion is, you have a 5% chance of going to the *happy* place. If that doesn’t make you realize something *fishy* is going on, well, good luck, keep praying.

Let us hypothesis that one religion is in fact true.
1) Most religions are mutually exclusive (it’s right, others are wrong).
2) There are 20 major religions right now (not going to count hundreds that have come and gone in history)
3) Simple math (we’ll assume you believe in math): 1 / 20 * 100 = 5%
So, no matter who you are or what your religion is, you have a 5% chance of going to the *happy* place. If that doesn’t make you realize something *fishy* is going on, well, good luck, keep praying.

Dawkins doesn't understand 1's and 0's, computer programing and DNA. If he did he would recognize that the amazing beauty he acknowledges in DNA as designed. A person with a technical degree (Electrical Engineering,Computer Science,information Technology) understands and can easily recognize design when it is present, they recognize computer programing, DNA and Language are all designed. This is why everything to a person of faith, is explainable through His word - because it is. I am not so pious as to think I can explain everything. It simply offers a far better explanation for the origin of the biodiversity we see around us (and are part of) than simply claiming "God did it". Dawkins doesn't debate creationists because creationists do not do science. As the US Bush-appointed judge found. Science, that is the study of "Reality". Errors, when found, are corrected. Where do atheists get the audacity to say that creationist don't do science. This approach "to avoid the debate" is so weak. It is either fear (cowardice) or naivety. Why so scared of ID? Less arrogant? Are you kidding? Medieval church all over again, trying to suppress progress! Time for atheists to grow up!

It's not just atheists who say that! Saying a magic man did it, but we can't explain any more than that, is not science. Hence the result of the ID in school court case. There is mountains of evidence for evolution, and it's the best, most elegant, hardest-to-vary theory we have.

@lewisrain I know others do, some Christians claim the same, doesn't make it true. What Evidence proves the theory of evolution as the grand narrative of why all is and how all is. Sure their is evidence that indicates instances of evolution, not enough to create this grand overarching theory that rules out creation. Ok, A Judge for real. The judge thing is laughable. Sorry. Does science deal with truth? Is truth discernable? If the evidence points to it, what is the problem?

@jmwilli9 It's also USED in our lives to make predictions and explain phenomena, help us in medicine etc. Your theory explains nothing and is not useful in making predictions or explaining WHY or HOW any aspect of reality operates. Not scared, just legitimately concerned about bad science and anti-rationalism from the heart of an advanced secular democracy.

@lewisrain How does evolution answer the question why? This should be good. Fear of an idea that threatens the establishment, info I don't like. Evidence. Look at Francis Crick and aliens, Dawkins response to Ben Stein on you-tube, if evidence points to a creator then it has to be aliens. Real science!!! Come on. ID is rejected because the idea of a God scares us. No more, no less. You guys might not be aware of that, but it is true regardless. Why did Bertrand Russell? He was Horny!!

@jmwilli9 Evolution, fossils, genetics, take you pick. Anyone of those things disproves creation from the outset. Creation is an unfalsifiable statement and cannot be considered science. And even then creation doesn't point to a god, even if creation is right and everything popped into existence fully formed in no way does that point to the thing that caused that being a god.

@TrueMetis How do those prove the over-arching theory of evolution. They may be instances of evolution but the over-arching theory that ties them all together to be evolution. You guys need to to stop drinking the special potion. "Creation is an unfalsifiable statement and cannot be considered science" heard it before does not make it true. Don't simply ignore the evidence you don't like. Seek out the truth. You claimed it, you prove it. How is it unfalsifiable?

@jmwilli9 Evolution is fact there is no arguing with it, if you think otherwise you are wrong. As for proof if evolution wasn't inherently true than there wouldn't be a vaccine in the world that would work. Creationism is unfalsifiable because god did it can never be disproved, and if it cannot be disproved it is not science.
