No need really to buy the paste other than convenience...why not just buy the lemon grass and galangal and use it...(be sure to smash the large end of the cut leon grass stalk to release the flavour...I also use two or three Kaffir lime leaves, shredded carrot,a small amount of chicken stock,and a teaspoon of tamarind paste as well...and one or two thai red chillies
Great video I love this soup so much and I've been curious on how to make it, I've ordered tom kah kai many times and I've never had onions in it very interesting.
