Now let's say if a tape player had a fast forward button but not a rewind one. You could still rewind side A by putting in side B and hitting fast forward.
OMG I used to own that exact player back in the day. I'd love to bring back some memories with the cassette that came with it. I know the one I had it was instrumental music. Would love to hear it again after all these years :-D
I had one of these and I still wish that I had it. I remember bring mine to my friends house at his B-Day party and we would record all kinds of stuff. your unit sounds great. if I had one of these today i'd probably rig in an earphone jack b/c I don't think it has one built in. and I'd use a cassette adaptor and play my iPod thru it.
oh my god! i had one of these. probably my most prized possession as child, i could whip the cassette out and turn it round with such blinding speed. what was thwe music you got with it as well.
Which REM album are you playing in the tape recorder? I like REM, I like them a lot, Shiny Happy People is such an awesome song. What's the recording quality on that tape recorder like?
Oh a blast from the past. Me and my pals used to record all kind of crazy stuff with it. We had to showcase our knowledge of those wonderful 4-letter words you learn on the schoolyard.
@HeebsterPR I think it was something to do with the "3 Little Pigs." I haven't been able to find the tape yet. It is a yellow cassette. I'd like to find it because I have a recording from the early 1980's of me and my Granny talking about stuff.
Being a young child of the 80's, i had this exact same cassette player. The build quality was a lot better than some of the stereos i've bought since!
@CassetteMaster Thank you. I completely forgot to test out the record function on these machines! I'll test the GE with the internal mic, and an external one too.
i had this! i even remember the tape that came with it....brings back memories....ive been trying to listen to the tape that came with it but cant find it anywhere!
Thanks, I was actually surprised the belt(s) are still good. As far as I know this unit has never been opened up, and is working with all original parts from 1983. At least I remembered to take the batteries out before I stored it. Now I've got to find that yellow Fisher Price cassette that came with this recorder. I hope you make a vid of the 1989 when it gets new belts.
I wanna get one to play dubstep on, whats the bass response like to it. LOL I <3 Dubstep

My unit had a nifty instructional tape that was blank on side B.

@manyvideoinerests Mine is 3 Little Pigs on side A, and a recording with me, and my Grandmother on side B recorded in 1983 after I got this.

That tape recorder was the best Christmas present that I received, when I was little. I took it every where.

Very nice, and I like the music. Looking forward to you showing record-on videos with this and the GE. Yup, catchy song.

Neat recorder! I have a generic kiddie tape record like that from 1989 with the original box, but the belt needs replacing.
