  • Seriously, even after all these years, I still never got what the fuck Melon Bread is, or does.

  • @nioor not sure what the hell he is, but he is seriously the easiest thing to kill. he does his weird face thing, sniffs you, and then drops a ball with hardly any explosion to it. thats it even on expert. lol

  • GIven that this isn't tool-assisted, how many times did you have to restart just to get the quickest possible time at Dice Palace? :P

  • also that old man is actually brown not white

  • the only boss that could've gave me nightmares was blaster force

  • i just saw two chasers and two lightning which should i get? im playing on the fusion emulator

  • well there was a time when i was playing gunstar heroes the die when Super fast and i still got a 1 2 3 and a lucky 5

  • imagine gunstar heroes in firstperson

  • Insane job! Just bought this today on the Wii VC, but never imagined doing a no damage run.

  • @packattack04082 Thanks. How is that DKCR run going? Are you going to do a single segment any% or are you just doing a level table?

  • hero!

  • damn 6:44 to 6:50 fuck take an item, make me wanna find my sega and gunstar heroes cartridge and take on the world.

  • Dude I used to be able to beat this game on expert like the way you did in your videos but now I'm so rusty at it I'm lucky if I beat hard now. Awsome game playing.

  • oh the flame chaser, the cheapest weapon that ever existed.

i probably have spend more time playing gunstar heroes than doing anything else in my life, thats how i know you do have the skills. but man how that weapon completely trivialize the game :P

  • @khhnator I don't see how the Flame Chaser weapon trivializes the game. It requires the most skill to use at its full potential. It may be extremely powerful, but full homing weapons are far easier to use, albeit slower.

  • @XeroShinobi well the issue is that not only it does humongous amounts of damage but also destroys many type of projectiles

  • @khhnator Yeah, and the weapon in question requires 100% manual control to use effectively. It's a fair trade off, it you ask me.

  • @khhnator The Flame Chaser may be cheap, but the Lightning Chaser is the noobiest you can ever get while ploughing through Gunstar Heroes.

  • @khhnator Don't forget the Lightning Chaser

  • If you knew you were running a no-damage run, why did you bother grabbing health? It's not a hugely significant loss in time, but it is lost time.

  • I guess there's a reason why you're the top person on XBL for this game.

By the way, what's the timing to get a 3 on the die each time?

  • @GerpieLPs Well, the highscore for this game on the XBLA leaderboards is purely based on numeric score. One can attain highscores by loitering and killing enemies. Skill really has nothing to do with it. Speed/parameter runs hold the real challenge.

In regards to your question, it's kind of hard to put into words. The outcome of the die is based on coordinates at the time of the throw, and at the time of the die landing. I can't tell you a simple timing trick. It just takes a lot of practice.

  • is there a way to watch this in non-HD--my computer can't handle it. :(

  • @OptimusPrimeribs Select 240p from the resolution list on the bottom right of the player.

If you can't watch it at 240p, I would imagine that all YouTube videos are unwatchable on your computer. That's as low as it gets.

  • @OptimusPrimeribs OK, it's working fine now in 360p. Must have been a slow internet connection last night. It happens sometimes. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hilarious how easy a lot of games are if you try to speed run them, playing them in a way the developers probably never intended. Excellent work--not saying what you did was easy.

  • @OptimusPrimeribs The majority of games are difficult to speed run well. Only a select few games have exploits in them gigantic enough to make playing faster and/or without damage easier than an average playthrough.

Gunstar Heroes certainly falls into the former.

  • I've owned this game for 16 years it isn't that hard after a few times through, can beat in on expert solo NP with barely any damage as well.

  • Wa very pro

  • Niiiiice. I weren't going to accuse you of shit other than being damn fine at this!

  • dude you're a MONSTER at this game, that's totally amazing.
