@MissBunnyElectric - MikuMikuDance, a program which is commonly used for Vocaloid PVs a lot, especially 3DCG. The majority of MMD models have mainly been made with Metasequoia. Most of the time people use Blender to model then export it to MMD.
*cries* Man, I wish I could do it this easily. D: I guess I'll just have to practice to get it right. >< I'm so confused though. I wish it was as easy to do this for me as it is drawing, because drawing's very easy for me. XD
did you actually draw the splines in the beginning o.0 or does the program do that using reference images or something can you actually use any of these models for mesh import into Second Life?
I don't really see how this is a HexaGreat tutorial though, if half the work is done on a separate program you have to buy. I'm pretty sure people would only use HexaGreat in the first place because they 'don't' want to spend money.
I have one issue, though. In metasequioa, I turned on symmetry and I drew lines. But when I go to move them, only one side of the lines moves correctly. The other side moves too, but not in the right way, the line disconnects. Is there anyway to fix this?
What is the name of this Lucky Star remix song? I could use this song when I am trying to model characters or drawing xD Love the geometry on this model except the geometry on the nose it too harsh and puts a solid line when light hits it.
@RatmanXX The technique is not necessarily only for Hexagreat 3D. I'm following the tutorial not in Hexagreat 3D. Try K-3D or Blender, anything that can do individual vertex edit, subdivide, etc, will do the work. But you will have to realize yourself what the equivalent tools are. You can't follow step by step, rather you must interpret it, then try to do the same in the other software.
Anyway, nice tutorial. It was really helpful to me. I think I have a decent face now.
oh btw i think i used a plugin that beveils faces, if that's the case than you can do it other ways, like extrude faces in the selected meny or just magnify the selected geometry a bit with the magnify tool
well if you are talking about hexa than you probably dont have the sufficient amount of understanding perspective or you disregarded what i said about the amount of point's on both sides of the model (or both)
if you are talking about metasequoia than the symetry tool is a bit broken, your model must be simetrical to begin with if you wanna use the tool and you can only edit one side at a time because if you select same points on both sides and try to move them, the model will colapse
i am very very very appreciate for your vidio, because in Taiwan, no one use this software,i even can't find any book! so your 2 vedio teach me all the things in MQO,now i can operate it in fast speed, thank you for the vedio and instruction
i am wondering is your MQO is the full version? because my MQO doesn't have the paint tool panel like yours in the left side( you used it to paint the eyebrows) ,
and one more qustion, how to make the black side line in 5:38→5:47? if you can help me , i will be very appreciate
common user error, like i said in the first video, you have to have some understanding of perspective also set the camera's perspective and angle to match the camera of your pic, and finaly make sure both sides has the same amount of dots and that all the lines are connected the same way in both sides, one dot too mutch or a line that isnt connected and your model ends up flat
usualy the problem that i face the most is line connecting, you have to be very precise cuz the program is picky
wow...i always try to learn to do this but i never can finish i freakin model.oo you should be a teacher wow...i was trying to do a videogame..but i couldn´t make the 3d models..

Okay new question...:
Long story short, I'm not gonna type the whole thing 50 times >:(
I accidentally pressed bevel and thought nothing would happen. I moved on and did all this hard work and then I didn't undo the bevel yet!!
When I made it into a PMD file for MikuMikuDance, and loaded it on it, THERE WAS NO SKIN.
I was making a head base to practice the head first, and all I saw were the creepy eyes.
When I zoomed in, THAT's when I see the skin, zoom out, it's invisible. HELP!!
