  • Could You Help me D: ??

  • @CreatorOfCastell

    with what?

  • @Cartoonothing Ah, sorry I asked btw. XD it sounds complicated though.

  • you sounded... mad?

  • @gameexe its just the way you sounded in this tutorialXD you sounded annoyed

  • you make it look so easy OTL

  • Its awesome but a tutorial is suppose to teach people

I think its going a bit to fast

    : <

  • @EmmysMMDProductions Try Blender.

  • This is amazing for mmd

  • @sheanna122 Whats MMD?

  • @MissBunnyElectric - MikuMikuDance, a program which is commonly used for Vocaloid PVs a lot, especially 3DCG. The majority of MMD models have mainly been made with Metasequoia. Most of the time people use Blender to model then export it to MMD.

  • *cries* Man, I wish I could do it this easily. D: I guess I'll just have to practice to get it right. >< I'm so confused though. I wish it was as easy to do this for me as it is drawing, because drawing's very easy for me. XD

  • this song made me dance while watching lol!!

  • can u animate the characters? :D

  • @honkute what

  • @honkute in 3ds max you can animate the character

  • what music is this? its amazing lol :)

and niccce work deffenetly getting a thumbs up :D

  • @dormstone1

    lucky star ost mashup

  • Wow!! This is fantastic!! Thank you for posting this!!

  • ..Out of curiosity...how did you learn how to do any of this?

    I wanna become acquainted with these sort of things before I go to college...but ionno howwwww. </3 ;///o///;

  • i want the face! mqo file please...

  • did you actually draw the splines in the beginning o.0 or does the program do that using reference images or something can you actually use any of these models for mesh import into Second Life?

  • Ear-rape courtesy of the Lucky Star crew.

I don't really see how this is a HexaGreat tutorial though, if half the work is done on a separate program you have to buy. I'm pretty sure people would only use HexaGreat in the first place because they 'don't' want to spend money.

  • no matter what angle you turn it to it's always looking at you

  • when you work on one side of the face the other side follows.... how did you do that? >.< im a beginner

  • Comment removed

  • I can't import my model into Meta.

  • @EmmysMMDProductions

    why not?

  • @gameexe

it just... won't import! i always get an error and metaseq crashes

  • making the eyes concave was a neat idea

  • DUDE THE EYES LIK FOLLOW U WEN U MOVE IT AROUND O_o

  • When I'm making the outline of the 3d model in HexaGreat3D should I start with a drawing of a person in front view?

  • can u put the songs, they r sugoi sugoiiiiiiiiii♥

  • Oo! the music is so epileptic

  • how much does this cost? ^^ ur really good, i use to have maya, but then somehow deleted it on accident... and it cost so much!! >__>

  • @toytown72

somewhere around 20-40$, i forgot allready

  • @toytown72 if its not too late look at blender

  • this is fucking hard!!! you're TOO expert!!!! DX

  • I've just gained newfound respect for the work put in to animated TV shows.

  • 実に上手に宇宙人を作るんですね

  • Your tutorial is great, thanks for making it! 8D

I have one issue, though. In metasequioa, I turned on symmetry and I drew lines. But when I go to move them, only one side of the lines moves correctly. The other side moves too, but not in the right way, the line disconnects. Is there anyway to fix this?

  • Is it possible to export it to MikuMikuDance after that?

  • the skin coloring is pretty rough i think ;S

  • What is the name of this Lucky Star remix song? I could use this song when I am trying to model characters or drawing xD Love the geometry on this model except the geometry on the nose it too harsh and puts a solid line when light hits it.

  • is there anyway to export that pervious work to obj?

  • no, you can only save to rok format

  • whats the second song?

  • hha its cool how the eyes are following you ;P

  • this is hexagreat3d 5.25??

  • I just got the new version and there isn't any symmetry option that I can find ):

  • Nevermind, turning off basic mode worked

  • For some reason, Hexa3D can't run on Windows 7 x64. What can I do?

Anyway the tutorial is great! I like how you made the eyes.

  • the program is to old probably

  • @RatmanXX The technique is not necessarily only for Hexagreat 3D. I'm following the tutorial not in Hexagreat 3D. Try K-3D or Blender, anything that can do individual vertex edit, subdivide, etc, will do the work. But you will have to realize yourself what the equivalent tools are. You can't follow step by step, rather you must interpret it, then try to do the same in the other software.

Anyway, nice tutorial. It was really helpful to me. I think I have a decent face now.

  • Okay new question...:

Long story short, I'm not gonna type the whole thing 50 times >:(

I accidentally pressed bevel and thought nothing would happen. I moved on and did all this hard work and then I didn't undo the bevel yet!!

When I made it into a PMD file for MikuMikuDance, and loaded it on it, THERE WAS NO SKIN.

I was making a head base to practice the head first, and all I saw were the creepy eyes.

When I zoomed in, THAT's when I see the skin, zoom out, it's invisible. HELP!!

  • Sorry to annoy you again... you seem to be the only one I know whose really experienced

  • how do you put them in mmd......

  • I don't see the "bevel" option.. how do I do this?

  • make sure the basic mode isnt enabled

  • @gameexe

    oh i don't

But which version of Metasequoia do you have? the original one or the LE version...?

I use the LE since... i can't export to X on the original one..

and I make PMD models on MikuMikuDance... Perhaps you've heard about it?

  • the original, yeah i heard of that

  • oh btw i think i used a plugin that beveils faces, if that's the case than you can do it other ways, like extrude faces in the selected meny or just magnify the selected geometry a bit with the magnify tool

  • And how do you get it to look so smoothly? I mean... I did it and then it just started looking like squares and everythin

  • hoy how did u get the lines to mirror?

  • with simetry enabled

  • @gameexe

    How do you symmetry it?

  • where can i find it?

  • i turne on simetry and the lines didnt mirror

  • meh just polys

  • does any 1 know how to convert the files into pmd files? D:

  • I *Think* you need to port them to .x files, and upload them to the pmd. editor.

  • is this program free

  • yes and no, it's free to use but if you wanna export to other formats and use plugins, you have to buy the activation code

  • YOU-ARE-AMAZING!!!

  • how do you do the hair.

  • i kept having trouble with the symmetry thing... i just can't make them look 3D!!! any tips? the lines just keep overlapping.......

  • well if you are talking about hexa than you probably dont have the sufficient amount of understanding perspective or you disregarded what i said about the amount of point's on both sides of the model (or both)

if you are talking about metasequoia than the symetry tool is a bit broken, your model must be simetrical to begin with if you wanna use the tool and you can only edit one side at a time because if you select same points on both sides and try to move them, the model will colapse

  • YES!! i finally got it! THANKS!!! and... sorry i didn't pay attention to your instructions in the vid... but still thank you!

  • i was just about to delete this program 2 times because i couldn't use and you've inspired me so im gonna keep trying! :)

  • yarrr, pirates dont give up, they fuck shit up

  • in metasequoia I'm trying to put mor wires on it, but when I do, it only copies to one side. How do I get it symetrical?

  • what

  • i am very very very appreciate for your vidio, because in Taiwan, no one use this software,i even can't find any book! so your 2 vedio teach me all the things in MQO,now i can operate it in fast speed, thank you for the vedio and instruction

  • i am wondering is your MQO is the full version? because my MQO doesn't have the paint tool panel like yours in the left side( you used it to paint the eyebrows) ,

and one more qustion, how to make the black side line in 5:385:47? if you can help me , i will be very appreciate

  • just click the objPanel and matPanel buttons and drag the panels to the left side of the screen and the will stick

as for the lines, i allready explained everything in the tutorial, read carefully and you will understand how i made those lines

  • What's a good program for importing the Hexa DXF and drawing polygons?

  • hexa doesnt save dxf, it only saves in it's native rok format, and i only know two programs that can import those, metasequoia and marble-clay

  • Thanks. I'll check it out.

  • where do you turn the semmetry on?

  • click the "sym" button

  • Hey you know how you make the head do you do the same thing if ur making a body?

  • no, i model the body entierly in metasequoia

  • ohh thanks. =D

  • i like it! its helps me alot! but can you please tell me what version is Metasequoia is it? ^^; mine looks old and anoing

  • mine is 2.4, you should probably turn the basic mode off and go to the configuration and chose a skin because the default look is crap

  • This is seriously awesome.

5/5 Stars, I'll definitely try to follow this tutorial.

Finally I can put my pen tablet to good use =D

  • Uhm... when i draw all the lines, my picture ends up flat and out of proportion. Is there a certain setting that alleviates this problem?

Any form of help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Nice choice of music btw

  • common user error, like i said in the first video, you have to have some understanding of perspective also set the camera's perspective and angle to match the camera of your pic, and finaly make sure both sides has the same amount of dots and that all the lines are connected the same way in both sides, one dot too mutch or a line that isnt connected and your model ends up flat

usualy the problem that i face the most is line connecting, you have to be very precise cuz the program is picky

  • Thanks for the help, it came out better~!

  • Haa!! The eyes looks scary!!!! They are always looking at me!!!

  • This is very helpful, but everytime i try to put in my file a bunch of Japanese pops up in an error message ._o

  • what exactly do you do?

  • 1) Open up Metasequoia

    2) Go to open

    3) Attempt opening one of my files

Sometimes it closes right after, if it doesnt~

    4) press ok

and then the Japanese pops up...

  • what is the file extension?

  • wow...i always try to learn to do this but i never can finish i freakin model.oo you should be a teacher wow...i was trying to do a videogame..but i couldn´t make the 3d models..

  • what is it that you import???

  • whut

  • Nevermind, great job!! But what is that music lol

  • thanx, this is madness music

  • lucky star opening anime mix ^^ (JAM らき☆すた)

Tips for the eyes was great but that realy suck in animation ,because the model look like she observe you avery time ^^

  • yeah, this thing isnt for animation

  • You make me wish that I was smart enough to use this program. ;p *fails every time*

  • dude, it has like, 3 buttons, you dont need too be smart too use it

  • That may be true, but the only tutorials for it are for model planes. I cant seem to get the program to do symmetrical stuff. Like when you where applying the base skin.

  • that plane tutorial rly helped me, it doesnt mater what you model, planes or anime girls, the pirincips are all the same, you use the same tools and actions too do them

as for symetry, push the sym button in the edit options tab in your toolbar and it will automaticaly do the same that you are doing on the oposite side

anyway dont look so down on yourself, it's what stops you from improving

  • That helps a lot. <3 I should have noticed it sooner.

  • Gorgeus face!

It must have taken forever to do..

  • Lucky channel 3D turtorial. OMG.

  • OMG geras! XD

  • gerai cia su outlinu sugalvojai :)
