We are all whoress when you worki for the man, this is not hippy talk. 60 years old working for the mafia truckiing industry, no lie, such a whore, no vaseline!
i guess ya had to be there because I ve seen this movie 2 times. I still don't understand it. I find it funny tho ....what have the Hippies done with there time after the 60s when there were the grown ups? They've turn into there own version of the Pigs...... man.
Thank you so much- so very, very much. I heard of Dennis Hoppers death today, just after the release East Coast time, on commercial free radio. I was having a bad day - then worse - then good, thinking - Mahn, if he had to pick a weekend to die - this surely would be it! Not being morbid - I mean it, and I love him and don't think anyone who loved him - from afar or close, would deny that. I spent the rest of my day watching all 7 - from a pretty slllowww computer - and I love you.
Thanks for posting this, I watched the movie last night, wasnt really into it I started thinking about it and reading the discussions, I now have a new appreciation for the film, I will watch it again sometime.
Really interesting. I always thought Easy Rider was a flawed work that could have been a real masterpiece. I look at it as a sort of home movie now and I dig it more.
Great post man. This film changed my life. The film revealed america's horrible ugly side. What a challenge for the whole cast and crew though. Artists are difficult people at times.
I think the movie reveled the good side of America as well though. We don't want to forget that part. :)
Two guys on bikes, traveling across the states. Living life free. Harley Davidson's that didn't break down ever other mile. LoL The wonderful music. Freedom and liberation that the hippies gave us. Love and peace. We need some of these things in the world today.
Thanks... this was a movie that really changed my life at the age of 16 ..that winter I bought my first H-D..and I still own it ..and a few more LOL ...But No Evo's yet ..LOL
Thankyou for sharing this with everyone. It's quite ironic also what happened to the bikes. The fact they were dismantled and gone. Just like the age of great music and films and exactly the message the movie was portraying. Incredible
thanks for posting this. I'm to young to remember it from the first time around but I saw it for the first time when I was 16 in the mid nineties and found it mindblowing. It say something about a film when so long after it was made it still has relevance. The end of that film is so powerful even today
Yup my faverit fiiillum ...just one query and i wonder evry time i revisit it.....last scene of the fonda bike burnin...theres no body? or maybe i just cant see it.
I don't think they wanted to show a (his, fonda's...) body. remember what fonda said about the symbolism of sticking a tube filled with money into a gas tank painted as the american flag? "fucking the flag with money", and one of the last things he said was, "we blew it". That's the last thing we see, that idea going down in flames, up in smoke, and the symbolism Fonda talked about of the two paths... one man-made and one made by God; the road and the river.
i was wondering the same thing. it does say original music composed by Robby Krieger, doors guitarist. hope it helps,if you find out the name ,let me know.
I have the lp soundtrack,:the weight by the band was deleated from the soundtrack, and replaced by a band named smith, and its alright ma "im only bleeding' and the balled of easy rider are credited to roger mcguinn not bobby dylan, the way peter explaines. i dont understand this but great film and exelent soundtrack. MASTERPIECE FILM!!!!!
I never would have known. Thanks for the post. I enjoyed the movie for the basic theme, The cross country ride.

"America's horrible ugly side"
Calm down dude! America was a beautiful place back then. Horror is where you find it, if you want to go looking.

Thank you for taking time to post these.
IT is really appreciated and shed much one could never otherwise know and helped me appreciate the film more.
We need far more independent films today, and wish it would become some sort of trend, embarrassing Hollywood nonsense film-making methods.
