This one off special was still good although not as good as the others, namely because the others were just so brilliant and a fresh comedy for us all. This special edition lacked the great lines of the others and maybe has been stretched too far and has reached the end of the road on ideas. Maybe a good idea to halt this show now while people still remember it for its great days rather than its recent times and less funny lines. However, still raised a smile in my house.

it wasn't was good as i thought it would be. it definately didn't beat the queen of sheba because that episode covered a lot of ground. they should have had anthony, cheryl, mary joe etc and there should have been more ideas. it was as if they were dragging ideas out for the sake of filling time. things were too overdone which didn't make it that realistic, i mean dave being in that bath with the turkey was just not funny. not the best one!

i personally thought it was absolute rubbish with only a few good lines but is that because the old episodes were SO fsantastic. it really was the most brilliant idea ever and so brilliantly written that this seems very poor in comparison. Maybe if this had been the first episode of a new bbc sitcom i would have thought it was great,better than anything in the last 5 years certainly, but compared to other episodes, i felt it was poor.

I am a huge fan of the Royle Family and thought that the 2006 special was an outstanding piece of television. The format had changed but they stayed true to themselves and it worked perfectly. This however was just AWFUL. I was so disappointed. How Caroline Ahern and Craig Cash thought that this was funny and worthy to be aired is beyond me. Slapstick and totally unrealistic, it looks like it was thrown together within minutes as a quick ploy to cash in on the programmes former glory!

This really is a very realistic view of life in Britain during the noughties, warts'nall (like it or lump it.) After a few drinks last night watched this and p****d myself laughing, it sooo worked, respect!

Very clever, very satirical, very, very funny. I particularly liked the non-alcoholic yet alcoholic all in-one-punch recipe, that was REALLY funny.
