There are places for those who have long commutes to rent for sleeping, especially in cities. Not sure about the mothers though. Ana's mother is the only known parent seen in Ichigo Mashimaro.

At the very beginning when nobue is counting her money, she had a 100 yen coin, and in the first episode Chi said that she could buy 1 pack with 100yen?? Was she saying that she could buy 1 pack with what money nobue already had PLUS that 100yen or something? It doesn't make sense to me, because if she could afford 1 pack with 100yen in the first episode then why not in the fourth? (besides, i dont think cigs go for that cheap)
