Beau travail !
Just needs an MXR Dyna Comp to squeeze it, a little chorus on "Syd's Theme" and a little dirt from a Big Muff fuzz and you have Gilmour's tone to a tee! Very good though. Heard a few little mistakes but nothing a little more practice will sort out. Well done :-)
@DannyNewman Thanks for your comment ;) Now I use BOSS CS-2 -> Big Muff (GGG replica triangle) ->BKbutler tube driver (boost setting) -> (Zoom G9 and BOSS DD-2 together for chorus/phaser/delay,sound and sound seeting and hiwatt emulation)... I think I'm going to do a second attempt of SOYCD with less mistakes ;)
Nice;) Around 4:50 (where the synth solo is) you are playing an Eb chord, were it should be an c-minor. But it works because it is the relative major. Very well done, nice tone, nice guitar :D 5 stars!
The first time I ever heard Pink Floyd was in the basement of a friend in 1971 in Orleans, France. Ummagumma album. We spent the evening huffing ether from a beautiful blue bottle and drifted away on Floyd. I also saw Alain Stivell that year in the massive central region of your country. Way before your time - might be before your father's as well! But that's the great thing about music! Despite our age difference, we both idolize Pink Floyd.
Thanks for your comment. I like when people speak and share their remembrance. My father is 75, but he prefers popular songs. I discovered Pink floyd thanks to my mother, now it's my drug ;) : I should have so loved to live your musical period, there was a real musical search, music was constantly in motion ... Today, music is bland, soulless, except for few music bands, such as Muse, Robert Cray Band, John Mayer... etc
Thanks heamorhoid ;) ... You want more ?? Just I say: Wait and See ;) ... Recently, I bought Boss cs2, BK BUTLER TUBE DRIVER and Big muff replica triangle ( general guitar gadgets)... So wait wait wait ;)
hi, thank you for seeing my video. i agree with your opinion: I was too concentrated and nervous ;) ... i'm going to make a new attempt when I will have more time ;s...
Davy I just risponded to your comments on my videos! i didn't know you were a brilliant guitarist ! My compliments! You certainly nailed the tone to this song!! great stuff!!! 5 stars!
Hey ! I'm polish guy, but I will not write in polish ! :D hmm, great cover ! you guitar have beautiful sound ! I like it very much ! Roch will be with you ! :D hehe. great :)
As a drummer I feel in my rights to say, you got a PERFECT timing in the beginnin', and that's one of the highest difficulties of guitarrists. Awesome job, 6 stars
it's my dream to get a real strat ;) ... but, i wait to have a lot of money to buy an amp ( Vox, Laney ..) and analog pedal effect ... Now i use my Zoom G9 with a boss CS-2 compressor .. In the futur, i think to buy a BK tube driver, big muff sovteck, mxr 100 phaser, tc delay nova ... So just to make a real analog pedalboard ...
god this song is just amazing.nice sound man.can you tell little about the emg dg20 kit?how is the distortion on them they said its sound like a humbucker i have hard to believe.but i think its much more power than a normal single pickup.man you playing great
I use my zoom G9.2TT in using the gilmourish's settings ;) .. and yes, i use reverb but i believe that Gilmour doesn't use it :/ ... Concerning the EMG DG20, it doesn't really sound like a hambucker such as P90 .. there is the SPC presence control which is designed simulate a dual-coil tone from the single coil .. it's just a midrange boost ( +12 db).
Nice job again. I did a brief cover of the live version (with a little of my own twist) using DG20's with a maplewood Strat. lots of output. I only used a little delat built in to the Marshall. Anyway I might have to get a Zoom G9 after hearing you.
super nice , but i have to say i had the DG-20 setup and i hated the way they sound , they were too harsh . so i sold them . and now i use G&L picups which sound great .
My 1996 fender strat has the DG-20 only with black pickups and a black pickguard. It sorta looks like David's famous black strat. I run mine through a mesa boogie with chorus and delay for damn near the same tone.
i've never seen the DG20 with black pickups and black pickguard :| .. i love your Epiphone ;), I would like to buy an Epiphone LP just to play perfectly Gary Moore's songs and other bands ;) ... I wait to see your next videos with your "black" DG20 and mesa boogie sound ;)
i understand you perfectly ;) .. It is really expensive to you ... so, if you want david Gilmour 's sound, buy a multi effect board .. for exemple :zoom g9, line6 POD 2/3 or boss GT 8 .. What's your Gear/Guitar ?
I thinking buy it,but only the 3 SA´s,i m from argentina southamerica, someone sold on internet for u$s220, Im afraid the sound of these pups sounds COLD...where are you from??
i'm a french guy ;).. You think buy only the 3SA :/ ... Buy the Emg DG20 KIT ... well, as for the others EMG pickups, the SA improve clarity, définition and sustain while providing warmth (alnico magnet)
a great single coil for cleans and low distorsions. With the SPC boost, you can simulate an Humbucker... I do not know if you have ever heard "this heaven"..david gilmour use a gibson goldtop with P90... With my kit emg dg20, i can copy this sound ;)...Of course, my zoom G9.2TT helps a lot ;)
so you connect the output phones of your zoom g9 to your PC microphone output .. then concerning your webcam software, i should be able to set the peripheral sound on "what you hear" option ... I used this method for my 5 last videos .. ;)
very nicely played. Your sound was a little soft after the intro solo. But loud enough to tell that you played it very well. I just ordered those pickups, I gotta get some videos posted here myself.
That's a great strat you have there! I too play a squier, but it don't sound like your's. :) You play very well and have a very evocative tone going on there.
I can't play this kinda stuff, but I wish I could! The piece is so long and complex, and I take my hat off to those who 'can' play it, like yourself. Well done.
My Squier is just customized: i've change the original pickup with an EMG DG20 KIT :D..
Your different versions of Comfortably Numb are incredible: Great job ;)... Actually, I work the PULSE VERSION of COMFORTABLY NUMB too.. So, I think it will be my next video...
U missed a little bit like the 3rd solo but other then that your tone is perfect love the dg-20's i wish i had a red strat to put them on but i have the all black like davids so it would be offensive to put dg-20's on it but yea great tone
thx ;)... I have already checked all your videos ( great job for "breath", "Echoes" and "Sound On Sound")... I agree with you about the 3rd solo: I had hurt my fingers :( ... I recommend The EMG DG20 ... The tone is very amazing to play Pink Floyd, Clapton, Santana, Gary Moore, Robert Ray, Hendrix/SRV... and others :D .. Beautiful your black Strat ;)
to begin, please accept all my condolences for your old podxt: i share you SORROW .. So, i suppose that you bought the zoom g9.2tt... I'm ok to give you my preset for this song.. I will try to send you this tomorrow... I've not a midi link to make this operation ... So wait and See ;)... and good job for you version of SOCD cover ;)
Thanks for your opinion ;) ... i don't use the direct recording of Youtube... I prefer to make my video on my pc via webcam... I don't rework the sound ... but, I remove a portion of the video to make it compatible with Youtube: for exemple, this video lasted 11 minutes ;) ... and finally, i upload my video file... I am going to watch your videos..
Merci

please answer this!
how did you connect ut zoom unit to pc for recording this?
Kirkh666 3 years ago
hi,
so you connect the output phones of your zoom g9 to your PC microphone output .. then concerning your webcam software, i should be able to set the peripheral sound on "what you hear" option ... I used this method for my 5 last videos .. ;)
davyxtra27 3 years ago
it's real good played very soulful ;)
bigb934 3 years ago
very nicely played. Your sound was a little soft after the intro solo. But loud enough to tell that you played it very well. I just ordered those pickups, I gotta get some videos posted here myself.
brandon9689 3 years ago
That's a great strat you have there! I too play a squier, but it don't sound like your's. :) You play very well and have a very evocative tone going on there.
I can't play this kinda stuff, but I wish I could! The piece is so long and complex, and I take my hat off to those who 'can' play it, like yourself. Well done.

Thx GeorgeBlades ;) !!!
My Squier is just customized: i've change the original pickup with an EMG DG20 KIT :D..
Your different versions of Comfortably Numb are incredible: Great job ;)... Actually, I work the PULSE VERSION of COMFORTABLY NUMB too.. So, I think it will be my next video...
davyxtra27 3 years ago
hey great job check out my echoes video.
U missed a little bit like the 3rd solo but other then that your tone is perfect love the dg-20's i wish i had a red strat to put them on but i have the all black like davids so it would be offensive to put dg-20's on it but yea great tone
adrianjemond 3 years ago

69tantra 3 years ago
to begin, please accept all my condolences for your old podxt: i share you SORROW .. So, i suppose that you bought the zoom g9.2tt... I'm ok to give you my preset for this song.. I will try to send you this tomorrow... I've not a midi link to make this operation ... So wait and See ;)... and good job for you version of SOCD cover ;)

What do you think of the dg20's compared to the strat's original pickups?
I'm getting a highway one soon, and was considering those pickups but there so expensive :/

you are a very good player, and your tone is perfect. Im assuming you are doing a direct recording right?
xxxapolloxxx 3 years ago
Thanks for your opinion ;) ... i don't use the direct recording of Youtube... I prefer to make my video on my pc via webcam... I don't rework the sound ... but, I remove a portion of the video to make it compatible with Youtube: for exemple, this video lasted 11 minutes ;) ... and finally, i upload my video file... I am going to watch your videos..

Julgus01 3 years ago
davyxtra27 3 years ago
Merci
Julgus01 3 years ago
davyxtra27 3 years ago
Merci

Julgus01 3 years ago
davyxtra27 3 years ago
