The segment from 1:50 on. For some reason my siblings and I automatically equated all the creatures here to members of our family.XD I think we were trying to rescue our Dad from being trapped under the red stuff. My favorite part was when we transformed into the sort of manta-shaped things.
I really want to know what the source material at 1:52 is. The segment is the longest during the entire "Post modern" segment. I could never figure out what it was. Is it like a body and those flying things are like bacteria and there's like missiles and a metroid flying around, really strange stuff...
I wish Computer animation was more like this now...
Dude, I love old computer animation. If I was a computer animator, I wouldn't even WANT to update my techniques or software. There's something mystifying and nostalgic about old computer animation. And it's more interesting and creative than the new stuff. Or maybe that's just me. xD
@tripdefect87 I just like the more stylized elements of it. Like... Yeah, it's awesome that computer animation now can basically make stuff that looks real, but there's something about the stylized people, animals, and everything else that I really dig
What I find interesting about this is how on the one hand the technology is incredibly out dated, yet immensely more imaginative than anything you see these days.
I love the multiple Chrysler buildings and sliding hexagons, especially the reflections. I remember people oohing and ahhing over this at SIGGRAPH many years ago.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who, as a kid, saw the pink stuff at 2:50 and thought of Pepto-Bismol.. lol

Do you know what's the one with like a circular xylophone machine that shoots out balls from a funnel to drop them on the notes?

The synth sequence at the beginning just gets me so bad!
I don't know why but it gives me this nostalgic overload even if it doesn't bring back any specific memories!
Truly awesome soundtrack to go with these incredible animations!
I hope soon this style of CGI will make it's comeback!

@BlueSilverStars I'm the exact same way dude. I just love how crude and strikingly organic it looks, from an artistic standpoint I mean
I'm hoping to save up enough at some point to buy an Amiga so I can try my hand at this sort of thing

Wow...I can not believe I am seeing this again. I loved this when I was a kid and have not seen it in about 15 years. Still mind blowing.
