I'm 12 and my Dad works at the uni. Every day on my way to his office after school I walk past these guys, and I have to say, it looks way nicer than what is shown on television. They play music, sit in a circle meditating, singing, relaxing. And I'm not exactly going to smoke it, but it being illegal is dumb. It's less dangerous than tobacco, I reckon.

And when I walk past, I don't even bother with a gas mask (gasp!)

There really is no harm going on there. I saw noone get hurt, nothing was stolen or broken and everyone was happy.

I lived in New Zealand (Christchurch) for 4 years and had the awesome opportunity to join a public awareness group (not here at Otago, but elsewhere on south island) and support the legalization and use of cannabis.

A university is a place where freedom of thought and political activism is supposed to be encouraged. Peaceful protests are not something which should be seen as 'tarnishing' the university's reputation.
