  • that cunt needs a shave at start hhahaha na allgoods my bro 420 hard

  • it's legal to be off your face drunk, causing havoc and being an all round dick but it's not okay to have a casual j while sitting under a tree discussing politics

  • notice its fucking americans doing all the talking!

  • I'm 12 and my Dad works at the uni. Every day on my way to his office after school I walk past these guys, and I have to say, it looks way nicer than what is shown on television. They play music, sit in a circle meditating, singing, relaxing. And I'm not exactly going to smoke it, but it being illegal is dumb. It's less dangerous than tobacco, I reckon.

And when I walk past, I don't even bother with a gas mask (gasp!)

  • sitting under a tree contemplating life haha

  • why do american stoners have to look so dirty and useless! get over the hippie age! u make us look bad!

  • @snowyywwinters what does it matter how people dress or look??

  • @snowyywwinters looks are one thing, but if ur that hung upon it, ur the one who make america look bad... or sound bad... jeeez, if u complain that much about what people are wearing ur obviously a fashion loving stupid person with a shitty personality... i don't know what's worst, looks or brains ? :P !

  • 大麻に罪や害は無く取締法という規制が21世紀の今日、有害で不要なのです。

  • PMSL at 1.50-158

  • Fuck Sainsbury is a fag

  • "Of course there are hidden dangers under trees. Sir Issac Newton for example got hit by an apple. WHile this is a walnut, what they do have in common with Newton, is an understanding of the gravity of their situation."

    what the fuck!!!

  • @dirtycoffee22 That was really well said haha.

Cannabis has the ability to be a pharmacopea miracle for medical issues.

Also the thousands of different products that can be made from hemp, like paper and textiles etc.

It's so ridiculous that we allow gangs to get rich off this, while the government wastes money

putting people in difficult situation because they chose a far safer drug than alcohol.

Hypocrisy of the Democracy I say.

  • i don't get why they make such a big deal out of a uni doing it, i live up north and people do it at my skool more often than once a week + they under age

  • YEAH! GO HARD

    pot is a plant

    that gows in the ground

if god didnt like it it wouldnt be around

so tell all those assholes that wont get high

to shut the fuck up and give it a try

  • all those hippy fags try b smatass cunts and answer a question with another question

  • awkward the amount of yanks interviewed....ah well good times haha

  • watch out for that walnut tree it might hurt you more than the cannabis plant

  • Glad to see Otago Uni 420 is still going these days.

There really is no harm going on there. I saw noone get hurt, nothing was stolen or broken and everyone was happy.

As for porty500s comment - You're saying that someones appearence should also be controlled? If one feels comfortable with a beard, then how is that bad? When you walk past someone who hasn't changed their clothes, do they pose a threat? No.

  • @CrapMachinimas killing my friend whilst under the influence, driving a car... i'd say thats good enough reason wouldn't you?

  • OMG look at the state of these people who are smoking it........ the look of these drongos is enough to put anybody off...." look at me i smoke weed, i don't shave, change or wash my clothes, ever, and personal hygiene means nothing to me.........."

You need to ask WHY weed is banned? with this type of justification who needs campaigns?

  • @porty500 You are an ignorant fool, you do not realise that many functioning members of society smoke cannibas but merely go unrecognized because of such stereotyping, sure most of the people they interviewed prefer the hippie look but they represent a mere fraction of weed smokers, they're the only ones with the balls to go out in public, though to be fair the line between bravery and stupidity is blurred. Regardless if you wish to put this down immediately then you are very close-minded.

  • @Brakinator a friend of mine was killed by a driver high on weed, knocking him off his motorcycle and decapitating him in the process.

is there any argument left in the world to counter that? i believe not.

apart from medicinal use which i support in tablet form, there is no reason on this planet that people should be smoking this shit.

my friend lies dead in a cemetary, put there prematurely by a smoker who thought he had the 'right' to smoke shit.

now am i close minded or ignorant?

  • @porty500 Weed is detectable in the system for up to 30 days, you don't know if he was high, and I don't think that anyone has the right to drive intocicated, people die every year from drunk drivers and alcohol is perfectly legal. Yes you are close-minded and ignorant.

  • @Brakinator now your just talking out your arsehole mate.

the old 'alcohols legal' bollocks is out of the box. that argument is really getting stale.

the argument to legalise cannabis has gone, we now have strains 40-50 times stronger than what was available a mere 20 years ago.

and yes, he was high, he admitted it in his police statement.

so to accuse me again of being close minded and ignorant shows just how much of a juvenile immature fucktard you really are.

  • @porty500 The alcohol's legal argument may be old but still holds it's validity, I don't know you or you're friend but hey I get that it sucks for you, regardless he was just as likely to die any other and blaming stupid stoners won't change anything and the strength of weed doesn't change anything, people just smoke less at one time. Do you even know why weed was made illegal in the first place? You might change your opinion.

  • dude check out the University of Colorado... its slightly larger haha

  • A lot of Americans and Canadians go this university. Interesting (at least judging by the accents of those interviewed).

I lived in New Zealand (Christchurch) for 4 years and had the awesome opportunity to join a public awareness group (not here at Otago, but elsewhere on south island) and support the legalization and use of cannabis.

I am very proud of these guys! Keep it up and don't lose faith!~ It's because of people like you that the legalization movement is gaining headway everywhere!

  • My next cone is in dedication of you guys. I'm about 3 hours late but what the hell. Its 420 in australia!!!!!!

  • haha that bearded dude was funny

  • well at least its a good thing the cops dont raid them. i am from germany, meeting like that is near to impossible, first they would come filming you and second they will wait till you want to drive off, taking your license and following your job and shit. must be quite chilled there.

    anyway legalise it.

  • Punish these threats to society. Obviously..

  • LOVE IT! I am from canada and am going to Otago in February and will toke a fat one right under that tree. (I hope the huge bearded guy is there too!)

    Long Live New Zealand Tokers!

  • What are all those skanky sh*ts doing at Otago University. Once it used to be a respectable university. Why would I ever want to do an MBA or a Phd there? Never.

  • smoke weed everyday. Legalise

  • it's 4:19, got a minute?

  • AHahahahahhahaha Freaksss

  • "um ..why do you bother interviewing people?"

    haha stupid hippie

  • the reporter looked like he was beginning to get high lol

  • judging by this dudes hand gestures he is fkn stoned as a motherfuk...

  • says who? when youre not able to put whatever you want to into your body youre not living in a free land. in fact, many surveys show that people who smoke marijuana commit no crime other than the crime of smoking pot.

the only reason drugs are illegal in america, however, is because when nixon was president, his shear paranoia and lack of popularity led him to a new subject to attack (i.e., drugs). thus start the foundation of the war on drugs.

dont beleive everything you hear, bro.

  • they really need to stop these violent protests

  • @Briantino how the is this a violent protest, they ant even doing anything just living there life the way they wana live it.

  • I hate hippies! I went to an university in Northern California in Humboldt County! Man they need to smoke in their house not in the school!!!!

  • Go hard Dunedin campus! all this prohibition bullshit needs to stop.

  • Funny how 3 of the 5 people interviewed are American!

  • Just another violent protest by otagonorml

  • lol he put the dustmask on upside-down, must've had a quick toke before filming

  • Hang on. Have I got his right? We have an American here advocating an illegal practice? Surely he should be deported??!!

  • I say if the police do not wannt to see them or want the public to see them.. give them their own cafe or room to use

  • why do i smoke pot? cos its better than alcohol.. no hang over.. though i prefer to cook the stuff and eat it.

    its better for you.

the problem with todays pot.. is GREED.

  • only 10 percent of non members/students are allowed to be present. and preferably over 18

  • He should have mentioned that we had something in common with Einstein aswell.. that is, we smoke pot.

  • and Carl Sagan, Richard Branson, BillGates, Steve Jobs......the list goes on.

  • wats the point? this club is creatin bad influence alredy..shame on you..

  • Bad influence eh?

Then what kind of influence is our countries alcoholism having on the youth of today?

All it's saying is that it is socially acceptable to go out and get absolutely hammered at the pub then go start fights and try not to get caught drink driving.. I have to admit that I've driven multiple times whilst high on cannabis and it's never altered my ability to judge as alcohol does and it does the complete opposite of making people want to fight.

  • Shitloads of americans or canadians.

  • ??

There are only a few Americans (Canada is in the American continent aswell) who come to 420.. just shows that you've never been to one.

  • Thanks for posting this video of our club dunedin420!!!!!

We are still going strong after 3 years and now have smoke ups at 4:20pm every Wednesday and Friday on the Otago University Union Lawn.

Come join us for a smoke and to help protest unjust cannabis prohibition.

Check out our website and profile for more info. otagonorml d-o-t-c-o-m

  • A university is a place where freedom of thought and political activism is supposed to be encouraged. Peaceful protests are not something which should be seen as 'tarnishing' the university's reputation.

Just look at the first links that come up when searching for 'Otago University' on youtube, drunken students rioting. That is what tarnishes the university's reputation, not peaceful student activism. Shame on you David Skegg.

  • That's right and the more the University tries to stop 4:20 the bigger it gets and the worse it makes the university look in the media.

  • mate i have one question to ask you... do u have to attend the uni to be able to attend the 4 20 club?

  • nope. as an OUSA club you're allowed a proportion of non-student members. come along next wednesday or friday and help show that the laws need to change to stop arresting adults!

  • first
