Love the sound of aircraft. I live in a town that usually only gets turbo prop aircraft so every chance I get I stop by to listen and watch the bigger aircraft at airports. Can't get enough of the sound.

Planes are getting quieter but that's abit of an exaggeration. Even an A340-300 which is quiet by these standards, is loud when you are underneath it.

Brilliant footage because we got to hear just how noisy these monsters are. The British Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon thinks they're silent. Perhaps he needs to take a trip to Heathrow and listen to what the residents have to put up with.

I'd swap my location under an approach path into a less busy airport for a location right under Heathrow's approach paths any day!
