More than fps, it would be important good brightness/contrast. Opencv is good, but it requires pretty sharp images, otherwise it won't be able to accurately distinguish your head from the background

how do you get such a good performance?
i use a opencv wrapper for c#, and i get a frame rate of 0.5 - 0.25 frames per second

Hi, would any kind of webcam work with opencv? i have a sony digicam, would that work too? since that has a better fps than my cheap webcam

In principle it would notice your head getting closer or farther from the camera and adjust the position accordingly.
In practice the size estimate we get from opencv is quite noisy, so this doesn't work as well as I'd like
