There isn't any effect so to say. You need good lighting during filming, and while editing you can color correct and raise the whites.

VerumRecubo is right. Especially about lighting. Really helps regardless of what kind of camera you're using. Even a webcam with some decent lighting is going to give your webcam a pretty decent look and a less choppy frame rate.

Correct. My camera is a pretty inexpensive Canon, but if I can get my lighting right it looks phenomenal. Not sure what Daren is using, but I know in his old webcam videos his lighting was good so the quality was great.
