Man, I remember when this game first came out. This was the best game I'd ever played for about five minutes. And then it was over like an hour later and there was nothing else to do. It's a blast for the first playthrough, but holy shit, what a trainwreck. They could have done such a great job with it. But it was just too short and too linear and there was absolutely NO replayability whatsoever. It's a shame that such a great concept turned out like it did.

It's not EA that made Mirror's Edge lol... EA published it. DICE made Mirror's Edge. They JUST got finished with Battlefield 3.

@odizzido But that's not always the case. Half-Life doesn't go unnoticed. Far Cry doesn't go unnoticed. Bioshock doesn't go unnoticed. Killzone doesn't go unnoticed. And that's just the FPS Games! There are many amazing games out there. You just have to look in all the right places.

@skateordie002 I have played through Half-life, plus HL2/ep1/ep2, farcry, and bioshock. I played some of bioshock2, but never got interested in playing very far. I couldn't even get through the demo is crysis before getting bored. I never played killzone, but I have looked at it.

The gameplay in each of those games is run around and shoot things with the ability to jump. Mirrors edge had a huge amount of new ways to get around. If you just ran around and shot at stuff it would have been terribl

@skateordie002 The gameplay in ME is more about moving around instead of shooting people. That's what gives it a fresh feel, and I find myself looking and boxes in games like left 4 dead and wishing I could just climb it like I could in mirrors edge. I think mirrors edge gives new gameplay just like how they added jumping or environmental interaction way back when.

I have been playing FPS games for about 20 years now so I appreciate games that try something new instead of rehashing games I have played 50 times. Obviously others may think differently.

I do however think that the future of FPS games should include the climbing that is present in ME as it adds a lot to a game. Just imagine how crap ME would be without it.

The EA president, Frank Gibeau, Confirmed that mirrors edge 2 is still in development, They (DICE and EA) are just looking for something big to bring it back. I think free roam would benefit the series dramatically. He also stated that it may use the frostbite 2 engine

I believe that Mirror's Edge has given us a glimpse of a new element in fps. A TRULY NEW element. It is completely consuming. I think if they were to mesh the open world of Far Cry and the beauty and relaxing immersion of this game, they would have a block busting, ground breaking escape.
