  • where is your program?

  • tutorial please...

  • Just because Blender and Autodesk both have 3D animation software doesn't mean Blender has to be compared with EVERY 3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE IN THE WORLD. Some of them do a lot of different things, and some people might be annoyed by people who always follow them, telling them to switch to Blender when they already have as much good use as they want from the 3d software they already have.

  • can you please create a tutourial about that? :O

  • question how to you key in the tracked footage?

  • is voodoo free

  • @CoDisafishy yes

  • AMAZING!!!!

  • Short cut keys are an absolute must for anyone trying to actually accomplish anything in just about any program.

  • That's way cool... !!!

  • If someone made a blender clip that's not just a "test" or maybe longer than 10 seconds, the universe would implode...

  • @2000jago Look up Elephant's dream, Big Buck Bunny and most recently, Sintel....triple implosion.

  • @SauronsEye Maybe I should be clearer: If someone made a video demonstrating CAMERA TRACKING that's not just a "test" or longer then 10 seconds the universe will implode.

  • blender just needs a better ui in my opinion. its really hard to understand the logic. maybe some step system like "modeling" then "texturing" then "rigging" then "animation" ect so everything is easyer to find. If your already experianced with it then this is not a problem though.

  • @jony1710 Drop down menu at the top for scene, animation, materials etc.

  • @jony1710 Isn't that how you would do it anyway and therefore why be constrained to that work flow by the programme?

  • @SauronsEye i gave up trying to use blender after a while because i didn't know all the short cuts and its too hard to find the tool otherwise. As i said if your already proficient in blender then this is not a problem.

  • @jony1710 try using 2.5 - much better!

  • @jony1710 it takes only a week to learn most of the gui after that it gets a little addicting

  • its look like stargate universe's kino :o

  • Groso!!!

  • How do you get the shadow?

  • OMG!!!

  • y is everyone soo angry about blenders interface?! im only 16 and i understand it completely. i think its rather simple. if u cant learn it you are not patient enough. EVERY 3d program out there needs learning. blender is just differnt from every other program(i think for the better). since its differnt everyone automatically thinks its bad. but its soooo much faster than other progams.

  • @aninjainatree I highly doubt that anybody other than the programmers actually 'understand (the Blender Interface) completely.' I mean, most Blenderheads can use it competently and without the confusion/frustration that the inexperienced users are always bitching about, but do you really claim to fully comprehend all aspects of the interface? If so, you may or may not be some sort of deity.

  • @airsoftc but thats true about ANY program. your taking what i wrote WAY too literally. and the cool thing about blender is that its open sources so its written by normal people all over the world. so there are a LOT of people who have put time into programing it.

  • @aninjainatree Fair enough. I love Blender XD

  • best voodoo tracking I've seen ever. it never gets past frame 2 for me...

  • Nice work.. but it looks disgusting..! haha!

  • whaaaa???!!!

  • How did you made the shadow on the ground ?

  • 3ds max requieres lot of PC memory, blender does not, 3ds max is at my oppinion good.. all in one software. and is 90% used in game industry and some use for creating CG pictures and wallpapers... but i personaly think blender is really good... u say that max has everithing what blender has??... Does max have muscale system... ???? like maya and blender ... od course not.. so.. if concidering blender is a free software.. it is pretty good.. p.s sorry for bad english... ;)

  • @r4jk3 3DS Max is not an animation based program, its used mainly for arch-viz and some games

  • @08Cuz08 and some games?!?!?! haha u must be jokeing... 90% games on the market are made by 3ds max... and many comercials and movies was done by 3ds max.. but when it comes to the movie industry, maya rules in that field..

  • Guys be realistic. I'm a long time Blender user, and I don't see that changing any time soon, but Blender cannot do a lot of the things that 3ds max can do.

  • puff..lol yea right

  • you want to be realistic...ok..... 3ds max costs just above 5 grand while blender its free ,so if you want to be realistic >>is like comparing a price range of a 1 grand car with a 500 grand mercedez ,however the 1 grand car performs just as close as a mercedez....in real life i would rather spend = "nothing" for something that can be done with both softwares with similar specs and performances.... and it seemes yoy know very litttle about the blender team and their new realeasee

  • I'm talking purely about the programs' features. Yes, the blender team has done a terrific job, and I'm very happy with 2.5 so far... but 3dsmax has had these capabilities all along, plus much much more. I'm still waiting for full GI in blender (hopefully by 2.6).

And yes, I would rather not spend money either, isn't that odd?

And can I just say... I prefer Blender... but Blender is still NOT quite at the level of the other professional tools... or at least the major ones like maya and max.

  • screw 2ds maxunity owns all!

  • @LazyCoder

Yeah if you're doing professional work...3dsmax is going to be needed. But if people are just doing it for fun, a hobby, or working on a small game team outta someones basement...blender is more than enough.

You can get really nice stuff outta blender that IS on the level of the overpriced pro softwares. ;o

  • I use blender, because I can't afford 3D Max

  • is 3d max better than blender?

  • yes, 3D max is what they made 2012 with

  • @powel5

Yes, but it also costs about $4000 more whereas Blender is free.

  • very good!! put it sound!. xD!

  • so you need two programmes to create something like this?

  • I don't know blender too well and voodoo not at all, but I know that camera tracking can be done in Maya and 3D Studio Max all by themselves.

  • okay. well im a long way from worring about those kind of things. let me first figure out how to use blender. an 3d animation still would right now be amazing.

  • ROFL...that is sooo funny i almost chocked on a cup of tea....

I Only Use Blender, (even Tho I'm A Noob Going Into Intermediate) And Think I'll Stick With It ALL the Way...no Maya or 3D studio Max For moi :D

  • I'm jealous. I see SOOOOO many things being done with Blender, but I could just never understand its interface. <:P

  • *chuckles* That's What I was Saying When I first Looked At It. NOW, it's SOOO simple....apart from the odd this bit and that :-P

Just Download It, Look At A Few Tutorials, And Then Look Back At Comment...And I'll Bet You'll Say "Was that me ??"...or if you got NO patience and cant be arsed to watch the tutorials....you'll look back and go "That Was DEFINATELY" me...lol

  • im sorry but your speaking like your the best blenderhead on this planet. Typing Like This Doesnt Make You Sound Better, It Makes You Look Stupid. another thing is all your videos are at a low standard. and i personally think your no where near intermediate.

  • umm, From What I know, I'm not trying to be a blender head, And i dont give a damn what you think of my videos and what my Blender-Knowledge Rank is. I use blender, I Talk to people Who want to start using blender, PROBLEM ?! I think not, so With all due respect, SHUT UP !

  • Comment removed

  • What are you on? In no way is he insinuating that he is "the best blenderhead on this planet."

He is mearly saying how at first, he too had difficulty (like me) with blenders UI. Now it seems simpler.

    NOTHING ABOUT HIM BEING GOOD!

  • technicly he does say hes good when he says: That's What I was Saying When I first Looked At It. NOW, it's SOOO simple. and also all i only said hes SPEAKING like hes good or very intelegent at blender. also it was ages ago so get over it

  • Well, I only saw you obscene comment yesterday so no, i won't 'get over it' -- you should read, think THEN post a comment moffboffjoe- Is English your first language? Because your certainly misinterpreting what Lee6720s is trying to say. He is merely giving positive help to another person who also found blender confusing at the start and is sharing his experiences. Do you think yourself big for sitting at home and attacking people who were only trying to help other people. Get a life-

  • i used blender as my first and switched to 3ds max.....ive yet to go back to using blender 3ds max is sooooo easy and so much better effects

  • similar? ummmmm are you crazy? its lighting, plugins, motion blur, particle system, biped keyframing,UVW mapping holy shit i could go on forever about the things that are mor advanced you have no idea what your talking about if you acctualy think that ask ANY one. 3ds max a five thousand dollar program over a free one??? pffffff get the hell outta here

  • Hm i guess you didnt get in touch with blender but have you EVER saw just a percent of blender can do? and it can do more with each version

Everything you said is in blender 2 btw,you just need to know the shortcuts (look them up-.-) and dont just look in the menu because you wouldnt find them in there

I saw both programs and blender is nearly 3ds max, you just save 5.000 Dollars and with each version blender gets better and better and better

  • @YkanAlman That's right dude.

  • @YkanAlman yeah but 3ds max is just more professional.

  • Im not disagreeing with you but blender used to be professional grade before the company that owned it went bankrupt, and made it available for free. But you are right 3ds max is a lot better than blender.

  • They company that made blender never gave it away for free. The creditors agreed to release it under the General Public Licence for €100,000. So the money was raised and the Blender Foundation was formed. Yay for open source software.

  • The only advantage you have listed of 3ds over blender is the biped keyframing.

  • @StropwenProductions lol blender has all of those functions

  • @StropwenProductions plus blender has a game engine...which max and maya DONT have. i do want to learn maya tho... ;)

  • @aninjainatree me two and my freind helps pixar so he has maya to:(

  • I hate pirates...

  • i guess the background was recorded normally, how do you make the ball stay at the same location (because the camera moves)

  • the clue is in the title..."camera tracking" ;-)

  • yes, I watched a few other vids about it now, including a tutorial with 3ds max, i think. is voodoo being integrated in blender when installing it?

  • no, it's an external program

  • cool. Perhaps one day I'll learn how to do this..

  • You should make a Cloverfield spoof and use Voodoo for tracking. I would love to see that. Are there any tips you have for getting a more accurate track?

  • whats wrong with the tracking ?!

  • Lol, nothing's wrong, but I just can't get an accurate track to save my life. .
