I bypassed the rifle by accident before going into the prison, can you still get the marksman rifle even if you don't have the M14?

Just a little tip for getting the Rifle. You only need the Garnet and the Sapphire, when you examine them, each should have a month in the description, (September & January). January is the 'New' and September is of course, the 'Old'.

Another tip, you don't have to travel to both sides of the graveyard, the wall you break down to get to the garnet, has a gate inside that area you can pass through to get o the statue, and then quickly get back to the rifle yard.

@jlennon1000 An M-14 is wooden (in my opinion, an M-14 is just an M-1 Garand with a bigger magazine and an automatic fire mode), you must be thinking about either the M-4 or the M-16, these are metalic, being the first a carbine more than a rifle and the second being a standard issue rifle.

You could have saved a lot of time by opening your map while in the cemetery and going right through it to the other gate. I got lost and accidentally found a second hole in the wall, one is a fat alley way and the other is a breaching wall. First one opens up right by the docks, where you first enter Silent Hill. Second one is WAY on the other side of Koontz, but you can go through the first side to access it, also a good shortcut to the power plant.

Just got the rifle using your walkthrough.

I got to say one thing dough (probably by now you know this) There is a unlocked gate in the are where the garnet is, it will take you right to the area where the statue is. Saves you the long walk you had to go around.
