@vailmaster5 Tense up your rear leg and as you swing it off the board bend your front knee while balancing on your front leg. Stop bending your front leg when your rear foot makes contact with the ground. You'll skip and chatter when you first do it but it gets smoother after a week of practice.

so my friend taught me how to long board. and i ride well(well good enough to get me where i need to go) but id use her board. but im getting my own and its longer and its a beach board shape. my boyfriend said its harder to make turns on ones that size. is that true that it will be harder. idk if i should listen since hes not a long boarder. any help with this?

@unicornsex26 they do tend to be a little harder to turn, but you can still turn fine as long as you dont want to try bigger carves and whatnot.

@unicornsex26 a shorter board will turn tighter however you can compensate for this by loosening your trucks. for your first board I would suggest getting a board from 37- 40 inches its a good idea to get a midsized board so that you dont get a very long/ very short board and then decide that you dont like it .If you plan on using it only for transportation i would suggest going no higher than 37 inches so its easy to store also try to get one with a kicktail because they are nice to have

i made the mistake ofgoing down a steep hill with a tiny ass SKATEboard. i ran off it, and slid on the rough pavement about 2 feet. i busted my knee, elbows, hands, 2 times on my left side of my waist, and my ankle. So, about a week after that i went down it with a longboard.. It felt AMAZING....LONGBOARDING CHICKS FTW!!

@doom2548 Carving is meant to slow you down. But if you end up pushing out of the turns enough it can speed you up. Carving slows you down like it slows down a skier. Because you are going across the hill you are riding on a less steep angle.

If you know how to skate or waveboard, then longboarding will be pretty easy to pick up. I got my board today and I already can do an ollie (coming from months of waveboarding.) And I can say longboarding is 1000123014912349823094 times more fun than waveboarding. You just feel free, safe and just... wow.

They are very soft now and nice to carv... They don't loose much of stability on higher speed...

Hmm,if your getting speed wobbles then try tightening your trucks just a tiny bit, it might help you stay on balance,and if they only happen when you carve,dont carve so fast

it all depends on your preferance. we have looser trucks for tighter carving but you lose stability at higher speeds. so it depends on what you want to do
