I can confirm that the music is indeed the soundtrack from EVE, which can be downloaded for free from the official site (although I'm not sure they have all the tracks there). Ironically, the game in which you spend most of the time in space not seeing your char at all has the best character creator of all the games I've seen so far. On the other hand, it is mostly a test for the World of Darkness.

I'm also been watching a sandbox MMO in Korea pretty closely with every intent to play it. Would be good to get some experience with sandboxes in general. All the people I've met following that same game have recommended EVE too. :)

I find they have put excessive work into this: Far too well done for what is needed considering you nearly NEVER see the result ingame apart from in a tiny box in a corner of the screen. But i imagine this can be the perfect accomplishment of an over enthusiastic worker. A more user friendly and improved NPC interaction would be more useful than this extravagancy, although it does show they have some good people in they'r team, they'r time isn't spent on the most useful things...

I don't understand why they put all the work into customizing a character you literally never see. They should be spending time making applications for an in game character, and THEN subsequently shape and improve character design.

@Raijian9 They have portraits, which are constantly visible, and they are making applications for the ingame character, they have the ability to walk in the captains quarters at current. They unfortunately rushed things out, and didn't spend the proper time needed on them. Thus there was a backlash against these features. They are currently on the backburner, it's quite likely that they'll implement the major features slowly, over the next year. while still doing the good thing, refinement.

Games like DUST 514 and being able to Walk in Stations in EVE (we already have the Captains Quarters) are steps towards this goal, and there will be MORE improvements after that.

I suggest, if you try EVE, to join a Training Corporation (Corp = "Guild") like eveuniversity or at least find an experienced "guide" in the game who explains you things :) Contact Karti Aivo ingame if you manage to get so far and got any questions - and watch for the eve trailers on yt

@Kuragiman I know you're not looking for actual answers on YouTube, but resource-wise it's prohibitively expensive in a modern faster-paced MMO to convey that much custom character data at once. If you pick body 2, face 17, hair 1, color 5, that can be sent as a very simple and short string to your client, which is then able to render it quickly from those prefab set pieces.

Is it sad that the greatest CharGen system in MMO history is in a game that doesn't really need it since you never leave your craft and interact face to face?  Why do games like Star Wars, Star Trek, Tera, WoW and pretty much every other single MMO on the planet not realize THIS is how you do CharGen? There's really little else they have to entice those that have left the game to return and they have very little other incentives to invite new players.
