Wow i would do anything to have the strength of this man! When i was younger i started reading the kinds of things whites say about us (on sites like youtube, for example). Before that i had no idea that they still called us monkeys, lazy, stupid, etc. I was completely heartbroken. To think that a man went through that x1000 and still kept his confidence, and his dignity is unimaginable to me! When i think my life is getting hard and that the world isnt fair, i remember him. A true inspiration
im white and jackie robinson is my hero. i can't believe how much abuse he took just to play baseball. this guy is a true american hero. rest in peace my friend.
Taking nothing away from the great Jackie Robinson.I don't get something. All the articles i have read tell the story of Robinson "breaking the color barrier" and how brave he was, and how wonderful a pioneer he was. NOT ONE BIT OF CREDIT is given to the man responsible for it all...Branch Rickey. Without Rickey's guts, determination, and bravery of his own, who knows how long it would have been for this barrier to be broken. Jackie Robinson was hand picked by Rickey to be the first black player
Jackie Robinson seemed to be just a great guy. A gentlemen. Thick skinned not to let criticism deter him or at least not let it show. You got to get him credit. He was talented and had a stable head on his shoulders.
@papasmurf520 like i said he deserves alot of credit..im just saying..for every 100 times jackies name is mentioned branch's name is mentioned once..branch made it happen..jackie also helped make it happen
This was a great film. The actor who played Jackie did such a great job If you did not get a chance to see it. it should be appearing on PBS next month.!!!
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you.
Jackie Robinson was not really the first african american the major leagues there was 2 other players b4 him "Moses Fleetwood Walker in 1884 and his brother Welday Walker"...they wasnt record as the first blacks because they never complete a full career they only played they got kickedout because of racism but they were their and they place more then a couple games...DONT MEAN TO CHANGE HISTORY BUT ITS THE TRUTH RESEARCH
Btw, Jackie, started to brake the color barrier in Monteral, I would like to know if there is any quotes or interviews about his time in Canada? I know that the crowd there after a key game went after him but not in hatred but to celebrate with him. Having said that, Idk why that part of Jackie's history seems to be ignored.
jackie robinson was one of the best african american baseball players ever. him, bo jackson, and now ryan howard. the negro leaugue had alot of better players during 30's to the 50's than any other white player. so he is not a hoax

jackie robinson is a hoax,... he didnt broke the color barrier in baseball..... google " chiref yellowhorse or moses j. fleetwood walker..... history is nothing but selective memory..... always question history bcuz is full of lies.
There were blacks that played in the late 1800's and early 1900's but they were fazed out and banned from playing so baseball was all white for 40+ years until Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier and opened the floodgates for blacks to be able to play baseball. He was not a hoax.
jackie robinson is a wonderful man. it dosn't matter if he broke the black history thing for basketbal, he still inmpacted history and i thank him for dat. R.I.P. JACKIE U WILL BE SURELY MISSED AND JUST TO LET YOU KNO JACKIE ROBINSON IS MY UNCLE BECAUSE THATS MY MOMS BROTHER AND SO YEAH KEEP HIM NAME OUT YOUR MOUTH UNLESS IT'S SOMETHIN GOOD IIGHT!!!

i dont know why they make a big deal about Jackie Robinson. he didnt break the color barrier. Louis Sockalexis was the first minority to play baseball. he was a native american that the Indians named themselves after in honor of him.
What is so amazing is that nobody showed him love about it. A lot of black folks were mad at him for leaving the negro leagues. And imagine what people in the stands and other players would say to him..... Patient man.
You would hate him if you are the american that in 40's ! Now you guys say that he is awesome!!
Cuz you know he is Great! But why you guys still hate Chinese or from another countries? You guys are really absurd if you are a hater! If someone say this is a poor comment .... You maybe know that I'm talkin about you!
Jackie robinson was inspirational, and such an amazing role model. Not just African americans should look up to him, but everyone should. He demonstrated each day how to be a true hero. Thank you Jackie!
Moses Fleetwood Walker was the first black player ...btw pay homage to branch rickey for it was his efforts that also allowed jackie to play
