I did some counselling work at a Catholic seminary back in the 1990s- I wasn’t very experienced but I don’t think they cared that much.
I often smuggled in porn mags (some gay, some straight) and condoms for the students until the Head found out & fired me for ‘incompetence’. However, they had to pay for my silence with 2 years’ salary and a fantastic reference as they didn’t want the bad PR to get out.

I mean, I definitely see why people like to go, there's the comfort associated with the beliefs, and the community, but nothing in it that addressed my main problems with religion, what I deem as being the "irrationality" of it. On a fundamental level I fail to see its validity. maybe one day that will change, but as of now, I am just as devout in my beliefs as you are in yours.

Amazing video! I was in Valencia in the ww Family Congress, and it was one of the most exciting experiences in my life to meet BXVI there. I'm looking forward to his visit to Madrid (my home city!) in 2011 for the World Youth Day. I've read several of his theology books and we catholics can say that our Holy Father is one of the brightest intelectuals in the world today.

I mean, I definitely see why people like to go, there's the comfort associated with the beliefs, and the community, but nothing in it that addressed my main problems with religion, what I deem as being the "irrationality" of it. On a fundamental level I fail to see its validity. maybe one day that will change, but as of now, I am just as devout in my beliefs as you are in yours.

Wasn’t Pope Benedict, as Cardinal Ratzinger, head of the Congregation for the Faith, responsible for overseeing the Church’s tactical strategy toward Australia, United States and Mexico sex abuse cases by priests? Wasn’t he an advocate of a “delay until the Statute of Limitations has expired” strategy? Joseph Ratzinger's strategy was to obstruct justice in the these and other countries. This man is a criminal and should be brought to justice...perhaps at the Hague.

Amazing video! I was in Valencia in the ww Family Congress, and it was one of the most exciting experiences in my life to meet BXVI there. I'm looking forward to his visit to Madrid (my home city!) in 2011 for the World Youth Day. I've read several of his theology books and we catholics can say that our Holy Father is one of the brightest intelectuals in the world today.
