  • Thanks alot!! Love ur vids!

  • Hey Scott, I think the second Chord on the opening is actually played:

    4th on E string

    Open A

    2nd on D String

    4th on G String

    open B

    open high E

Hope that was clear...This sets it off nicely from the first Chord.

  • @bbunters

    Open A muted...

  • Scott, thanks very much for this video. I play in a "Chicago rock type band and I thought that if I could learn this tune, it could be a show stopper, thanks to you, of course! That' why I'm grateful to you for sharing your knowledge, skill and technique with this song. I'll be checking out your other videos as well. Thanks, again!

  • I love the idea of thumbing the bass notes, as far as I've seen tommy doesn't do it, but I think it shows a fun level of competency on the instrument. Well for me it does, I've got tiny little lesbain hands which is awkward cos I'm a dude :\ Been doing it for a while now, didn't even cross my mind to do it in this song. Excellent lesson, keep it up bro.

  • The lick at 8.10 can also be done by using an e shape fingering on the top three strings and pulling off with

    your little finger.

  • Hey did u used the tab from that page? really nice video :)

  • гуд

  • 8:15 what means correctly ? tommy plays it without the thumb

  • hy, i put here my version... Bye!!

  • Any tips Scott on keeping the bass pumping while picking with the other fingers? Seems impossible.

  • @MrWopwink Thats a good question, I think it helps to just be extremely familiar with the song. To the point where you can play it while talking. It also helps to just play the bass louder than the other notes with your pick. Hate to say something so obvious but, just practice more! =)

  • How come you don't play it like the tabs says to do around the 4:00 min? I get the same sound as you but with a totally different grip.

Your guitars has such a nice sound btw! :)

  • Hi Scott,

did you learn this from the tab you mention and did you find it accurate?

  • @wopwink I did learn it from the tab at first but it's not as detailed as tommy actually plays it. So I had to watch a lot of videos and learn it that way

  • @ScottTsai well done Scott x

  • @MrWopwink Thank your!

  • where can i get your tab?ease reply

  • @jackguitarfreak3 i dont have my own tab written out sorry ! but there is a link in the description to someone else's tab

  • Hi Scott, I recently switched from elixir nanoweb to polyweb and really like them a lot! You might try them and see what you think.

    Jim

  • Hey Jim

yea ive tried those before, i like the strings i use because they are phosphor bronze not because ot the nanoweb coating. i dotn think elixir offers polyweb with phosphor bronze

  • man... you're scary.......

  • god you are good

  • Wooo!! I've been waiting for you to do a lesson on Mombasa. Thanks so much.

  • actually I would like to make a correction to that statement lol. Elixir's nanoweb phosphor bronze strings have their own special gauge which is 12 - 53's so there you go =)
