Very very stunning travel journal you have made. Can you make a haul video on the art items you have purchased on your trip to Japan??? Or, make a video on how to make a travel journal??? Thanks :)
I love your journal.. I would love it if you would do a tutorial of the process of making the journal... Maybe even one done in parts and you could make part 2-whatever the process of filling the journal. What fun!
Thanks so much for making this video. This is exactly the kind of travel journal I dream of making. I love the hot pink. I want to add every little thing I see. It's beautiful!
We received this response to AnnaBanana's question from Kara Klein!
"I'm glad you enjoyed your trip through my journal. I prepare the cover and the pages in advance. The cover is a fused collage using fabric and paper. It's built on a heavy vintage linen that I found inside an old obi that I had. The pages are 140 lb index sheets, torn down to fit in the journal covers. I paint the pages before I tear them down just for ease." continued...
"Then I just use a simple binding method, either using my sewing machine or using a pamphlet stitch. It usually takes me a few hours all together to make the journal form and then I work on the pages while I'm on the trip, usually once I get home I don't do anything further, so this journal took me about 2 1/2 weeks, the amount of time I was in Japan."
Love your video... I am an Art Education major right now and in the spring I will be taking a book making class. I was wondering how long it took you to finish this book, from start to finish? Also how much of the work did you do before your trip, like the fabric on the outside and the painted pages? Thanks for sharing :)
This is AMAZING! I am an art education major and am about to take a book making class in spring 2011.. I have been art journaling for 2 years now but have never seen a journal like this before. How long did it take you to make this... and what kind of book did you use. Also how much work did you do to the book before you went on your trip... like the fabric on the outside? Thanks for sharing :)
