HOT, HOT, HOTest! I love the man. Does anyone have his recording of "If I Were A Bell"? please post it! It is mighty. This guy's phrasing was so supreme and he was too cool. I was lucky enough to see him several times in L.A. I will forever miss him.
Mr.Joe Williams,o verdadeiro Jazz,do mais genuino.Estao la todos,uma verdadeira Jam Session à antiga americana) vê-se Joe Anderson(tenor sax) e Bill Clinton (ex-Pres.USA)
If you like Joe Williams there is an album of his. One more for my baby . . . It includes the song. The piece is incredible, starting with the opening. The music depicts people disappearing down the streets, leaving them deserted, lights being turned off and so forth and then is like you walk into the bar continuing the song and watching Joe sitting at the bar ordering his drink, doing his song.
Please let me know if I can find a clip, or send me a link. Thanks, Marco.
Joe Williams, some musicians consider him the greatest of all Male Jazz vocalist. Hard to argue with that. I sang in a band for a few years. The leader, Pianist, knew Joe and played in Joe's band for a stint. Through him, I met my idol. He was bouncing off the walls back stage. Full of energy. One of my greatest memories.
Joe Williams was on "The Cosby Show" once in the 1980s, and he sang "Battle Hymn Of The Republic" a capella. Sent chills up my spine. Wish I could find that....
Wow! I remember watching this back in the day. I'll never forget they played "A Night In Tunisia". Would you happen to have that clip? Thanks for this
This is a facinating watch - thanks for sharing. Any chance of more? Jimmy Heath sounds in prime form - absolutley wonderful - but want to hear Red Rodney.

These are The Great Americans of Jazz Music. Never to be outsourced, or duplicated anywhere but the USA.

A little after 2:40 Thelonious and John Lewis try to play breaks but Christian McBride walks through! Joe Williams is the man.

Holy heck! I just saw Bill and Hillary. 1:45, 2:00, 3:07, 3:10. Although if I read the info I shouldn't have been surprised.
I guess she should be singing it to him, huh?

Joe is but ONE of the many greats on this bandstand. Look at all that history. Grover Washington has plenty of gull to play with these cats.

Man I wish Faddis could have taken one. His tone quality fits over the blues very well. Do You Have Anymore footage from this performance?
