  • Liz, have you ever watched the documentaries Food Matters or Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead? They really opened my eyes on eating raw unprocessed foods. Also have you read anything by Dr. David Wolfe? Between you and the two documentaries, I have completely changed my life. Three ago i weighed 247, now at 233.5, I can feel and see the difference in how eating raw foods can benefit ones body. BTW, bought all the books you mentioned. I have lot's of reading to do. :-)

  • THANKS FOR SHARING THIS SWEETHEART....I KNOW A LOT ABOUT MOST OF THIS AS I'VE BEEN INTO THIS FOR DECADES AND AM IN SUPER EXCELLENT HEALTH. DO YOU ALSO UNDERSTAND THOUGH THAT WE WILL HAVE NO HEALTH IF OUR ECONOMY ISN'T HEALTHY & FREE AND THAT ITS SUPER IMPORTANT TO WORK FOR A LIBERTARIAN SOCIETY THAT RESPECTS THE CONSTITUTION THAT WAS DEVELOPED TO PROTECT THOSE FREEDOMS? WHAT I'M ASKING YOU AS ONE NATURAL LIVING PERSON TO ANOTHER IS DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO SUPPORT RON PAUL 2012

  • John McCabe is his own best advertisement, as LizYArtur is with her beauty and generous promoting of McCabe's "Igniting Your Life" book (and he has other books on Amazon), because he is as handsome as he is healthy and as articulate in speaking as he is in his writing. I never miss a time to hear him speak. The proof is in the pudding!

  • @micarmean Awe, thank you for your sweet words! I have to agree, I love the work of John McCabe. I don´t really know what he looks like... now I´m going to look him up! lol! (: xx

  • @LizYArtur , I have a kindle & learning to use it. But I have a sister-in-law, who said the same thing about liking books & not kindle...especially the feel of holding a book. But we ignored her protest & gave her one for her birthday. We now a kindle convert. She loves classic books (ie: Jane Austen) & most classics are available through google project free & legally (many copyright has expired). All your books are in one place for you to choose & no waiting, download through kindle. Thanks!

  • Hi Liz, I personally think it's high time you decided to write a book on your health and wellness journey yourself: with your tips, your experience, your suggestions. Oh by the way: your hair looks gorgeous. Kisses :)

  • @fishing691 I´ve been really thinking about writing a book lately!! I feel even more inspired to write one now! (: Thanks for your sweet words... hope you are well! xx

  • And by the way: you look amazing in this video! That was my first thought when I started watching it! :)

  • I don't want to be rude, I just want to point out that the idea that this book represents some amazing scientific facts that eating meat is bad for you is false - from the scientific and methodological point of view.

  • Although I do not believe in the vegan diet and eat meat myself, I respect everyone's choiches when it comes to their diet. So just to be clear: this is not a critique of the vegan diet. I just want to comment on the China study. Everyone with at least a little knowledge in statistics will tell you that the book is bad - from the statistics view point. It jumps to conclusions way too quickly and ignores data that don't support original hypotheses that the author has.

  • I love your hair Liz, you cut fringe? So pretty and shiny! Have a beautiful weekend.

  • oh wow you look gorgeous! x

  • It is a 30day program with 45 minutes listening to great mental tips, psycholigical stories, good inspirational thoughts and he gives excersises for your successjournal. It's funny, it makes me enthusiastic and I learn so many things. I'm also going to download it for my sister in Spain. So, I say: try it too. :) You can listen to it, while your cleaning, making food or...painting, like me.

  • @tepeltje Awe, thanks for your sweet words and recommendation! I will definitely check this out... I love stuff like that! xx

  • I have a super recommendation for you. It's a mental health tip. I've been listening (yes listening because it's audio) to Anthony Robbins with Personal Power 2. I've been watching video's on YouTube and I wanted to buy his CD's SO MUCH, because he's so good, but the CD's are €300,- or something. So I've downloaded it from PirateBay. org. (really bad...I know) but if it was cheaper I would buy it.

  • Great! I was just looking for 'how to start with rawfood' 'the basics' or something like that! I've seen many videos now and I'm really interested. So thank you very much for your book recommendationlist because I've seen other people asking for it too and I linked your channel.

  • Hi Liz, thank you for sharing these books! I am going to try to locate the China Study, it sounds very interesting. One book I can recommend is Gwyenth Paltrows cookbook My Fathers Daughter. She offers vegan options for some of the recipes, its a lovely book about food and family. She talks about her shift from her macrobiotic diet to allowing in some foods, but there is something for everyone in her book. Just out of curiousity, how do you handle Holiday meal time with your family?

  • @Virtualbeautycounter You're welcome! Thanks for your support! The China Study is awesome!! That book sounds interesting! I always prepare/bring my own food to family get togethers and bring some to share! Once you get over your fear of your first family get together and realize it's only as big of a deal as you make it, it's easy! (; xx

  • VERY COOL!! I love books and this is a good one for me!! I will fav this ;)

  • You know, they plant plantations of trees to supply the paper industry. So books actually stimulate tree-planting on the planet big time!

  • @SeventiesGirl1961 I didn´t know this... thanks! Now I don´t feel as bad! (;

  • Liz i saw this add in Instyle magazine about this thing called yonanas and you all you do is put frozen bananas in this thing and it turns them into the consistency of ice cream! You can add a bunch of other things like berries or mangos too! I was wondering if you'd heard of it or something because I'm so interested.

  • *diet, not die!

  • I went to a bookstore today looking for 80/10/10 because of your earlier recommendations and I was so sad when an employee told me it was on backorder. I checked on Amazon and it is unfortunately on backorder there as well! And then I logged onto Youtube and I saw this video and it made me want them even more! haha what a coincidence. I'd also like to recommend to you The Kind Die: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet by Alicia Silverstone

    All the Best!

  • @travelpretty I loved the kind diet too!!

  • @travelpretty Awe, sorry to hear that! Hopefully you can order it soon! Alicia eats a cooked vegan diet and you will also reap many health benefits eating that way! Wish you the best! xx

  • Great video Liz! The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo is a great book if you haven't already read it. P.S. Would love to see a makeup tutorial on your look in this video if you're still doing them. Beauty on the inside and out right?? :)

  • ..thanks for sharing your journey!

  • Liz I have been waiting for this one! Funny I just received The China Study in the mail after friends recommended it. I have heard of a new documentary called Forks Over Knives - have you heard of it yet? Also, documentaries like The Gerson Miracle and Food Inc plus books like Fats That Heal Fats That Kill and Fast Food Nation are interesting and eye opening & promote plant based diets as the path to health and healing. Am about to read Eating Animals and will be adding Mad Cowboy to my list. T

  • @wildhautes Hi! So glad you have a copy of The China Study! It's mind blowing!! Yes, I've heard of Forks Over Knives but still have not seen it. Will most likely have to wait until I can download it or watch on YT... don't see it coming to Spain anytime soon! :/ I have watched some of the other documentaries... they are great! xx

  • Liz! Fab! Loveya. -Brian from 30bad / brianonhealth dotcom and thefruitandvegetablecuisine dotcom

  • @ocergnairb Hi Brian! Thanks for your kind words and support! (: Will check out your sites! xx

  • Liz and Leija Turunen are the most charismatic Youtubers in my opinion.

  • @Taaplari Awe, thank you! I will have to check out Leija! (:

  • U look amazing!

  • PS- check out some of Ralph Waldo Trine's books. I especially liked In Tune with the Infinite and What all the World's A-searching for !

    Excellent

  • great recommendations. The world peace diet is my favorite...what first convinced me to go vegan. i must say, you look gorgeous! :)

  • @claudettedupont That book is wonderful! Thank you for your sweet words! (: xx

  • Great video sweetie!Thanks:)

  • Great video Liz :D i read most of the books you recommend and i also found them to be really grate! ;)

  • Thank you...

  • You're amazing, Liz! Very useful information, thank you!

  • The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and The Power are REALLY good. Similar to A New Earth.

  • love your bangs !

  • @annemarie71588 Thank you!! I´ll tell Arturo! (; xx

  • What a great vid, so many amazing recommendations! Definitely going to check some of those out! THANKS!!!! :) X

  • I tried eating this way and my hair started falling out. Now my scalp shows. I gave it a good 4 months. Don't force yourself to eat this way unless your body agrees.

  • @doubtfuldreamer If your hair started falling out it's because you were not eating enough calories. I have had zero problems with my hair falling out. I usually eat 2,500-3,000 calories daily. My body definitely agrees with this way of eating! No forcing has to be done... I love my food and life more than ever! Wish you the same! (:

  • @LizYArtur I hate a good amount of calories, maybe not that much.. my problem was that I am trying to lose weight and I lost nothing on the vegan diet, my body held on to everything I ate. I will still reduce my meat consumption but my hair is already fine I can't afford anymore loss

  • @doubtfuldreamer Eating a low fat plant based diet is the best way to lose weight long-term, meaning forever! Sometimes when we switch our eating to vegan, they body is finally able to spend time repairing itself and that's what it works on first and then the weight comes off later. Have you ever seen an overweight vegan? Me either and there are absolutely no long term LFRVs that have weight issues. We have to put our health first and our appearance second. It will all come in perfect timing. xx

  • Love the hair today! You should start a goodreads book group!!

  • what about tosca renos book "the clean diet", which you highly recommended a year ago. Can`t you support her thoughts on healthy eating anyomore?

  • @nasuwhales I'm recommending the health books that have helped me the most. With that being said, I can't recommend her book because I've since read other books that have been more helpful to me and I feel so much better since changing my way of eating and lifestyle recommended by these books. Hopefully you understand. (:

  • A lot of people really believe that they can't eat raw or vegan because they get "sick" or "weak", but really their body is kicking into high gear cleansing because its not free from breaking up so much toxic food. The Beauty Detox Solution speaks of this and I'd highly recommend it.

  • @87browngurl I agree... great point. A lot of people also don´t eat enough calories, they fail and then blame it on the fruit and vegetables. That´s why I want to get the message out there to EAT ENOUGH!! :D

  • Thanks Liz! I'm going to pick up The World Peace Diet and A New Earth next time I'm at the book store : ) 2 books that come to mind that I think you may enjoy are Banana by Dan Koeppel - about the history of bananas, our relationship with them and their questionable future. Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer - a semi objective viewpoint on the topic, the author presents the arguments and data from all sides to allow the reader to come to their own conclusion.

  • it is just no longer an option. It is just interesting to me how this change in my exercise has made such an impact on my life. Just something to think about i guess because I have tried and listened to the view point of every diet/"healthy lifestyle" out there and given them a fair chance, and to be honest animal protein, which i only eat in extreme moderation when my body needs it, has given me more strength and energy that i have been craving and missing!

  • @ntash92 I totally agree about listening to your body. Just curious, have you read the 80/10/10 diet? If you were underweight and weak feeling, you weren't eating enough calories. Many people actually gain weight on a raw fruit-based diet and feel amazing, but you have to be eating enough calories. (for example Liz eats those huge banana shakes for breakfast that have over 1000 calories)

  • @redloveballoon I do take in quite a few calories, but 2,500-3000 is really too many calories for a female to consume unless they are training their muscles for bodybuilding purposes for the regular individual that is just too many calories, and not matter what if you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. but i found that i just couldn't eat enough fruits and veggies to satisfy my hunger. it could work for others, but not for me - do what works for you :) i listen to my body!

  • @ntash92 2,500-3,000 calories is not too much for a femal to consume. I do 45min-90min of exercise 6x weekly and my physique is improving. This is where we all need to shift our thinking. Eating 3,000 calories of fruit/veg is not the same as 3,000 calories of high fat animal products and processed food.

  • @ntash92 psh! 2500 calories is not too much for the female to consume! It sounds like you have an eating disorder? Why are you so worried about putting on weight? You need to eat 10g or carb per kg for body weight. Check out Freelea's channel. She's LFRV and not muscular and she's sooo thin and eats around 3000 calories per day!

  • @heidiheidi0 im just trying to get a healthy debate going and saying i have an eating disorder is a little uncalled for. I don't consume any less than 1500 calories ever - im 123 pounds at 5'8" and my weight fluctuates so i think im just fine I'm not worried about gaining weight but my body does not need that many calories - i.e. food fuels our exercise and daily activity, and even though im highly active and do many sports i don't need to overeat.

  • @redloveballoon and no i have no read that book, maybe i should read it and see what it is all about, i have researched raw, vegan, vegetarian diets to see what i could fit into my own lifestyle. but now i just eat a mostly plant based diet that includes a little chicken, eggs, and dairy and i feel great - i don't overdo the carbs either because unless i need a lot of carbs to fuel my exercise, they will just be stored as fat

  • my body could no longer handle the diet. So I have basically come to the realization that you need to listen to your body. There is no right or wrong diet, just a diet that works for you. I tried at some point to eat mostly raw foods for a while and it completely diminished my strength and energy. I think that these types of diets are fine for sustaining light weight lifting (i.e high reps, low weight) and lots of cardio, but once you start doing really heavy weight lifting & crossfit...

  • @ntash92 Another example is Mike Arnstein aka thefruitarian . com. He eats 80/10/10 and runs marathons under 2hr30min. I believe that´s about 5:30 per mile=FAST!! Hope you will check out the book 80/10/10 and The China Study! Take care! xx

  • Hey Liz, I love watching your videos cuz I am also a healthy freak like yourself, except regarding diet I'm a vegetarian but recently I have started adding chicken into my diet. I thought I was doing my body good by not eating meat (btw I only eat organic chicken that is raised ethically) but I have become underweight and my diet just could no longer sustain my exercise. When I was running as a vegetarian I was fine, but once i started heavy weight lifting......

  • @ntash92 Thanks for your kind words and support! It sounds like maybe you weren´t eating enough calories since you were underweight. There are a lot of people who heavy weight lift and eat a raw vegan diet. Check out veganbodybuilding . com. You definitely can eat a plant based diet and succeed with any type of exercise!! You just have to eat enough! (: You should check out some of the books I recommended! (:

  • @LizYArtur Oh i was eating tons of calories, but never felt full and had a lot of stomach problems, but i just think it's interesting how everybody has different reactions to certain diets, and i believe that there is no right or wrong, but i believe you have to listen to your body! I will definitely read up on even more book b/c im always fascinated by different lifestyles that people pursue and im always open to new things, who knows maybe within a year ill be vegan or go back to vegetarianism

  • wow your the picture of health.
