Hes driving so close to the car so hes in the air tunnel, less resistance. U can do it with a car by driving near a truck or a bus, one thing u gotta watch out is fast breaking.

try going 60mph on a 400meter downhill 10% gradiient with cars alongside..then get back to me. this is just a guy training for close to a bumper( or in cycling a back wheel) at speed.its not about how fast he can go.most elete trained cyclists can get up to 55 60 mph .Sean yates descended at 70+mph in tour one year to get up to the break aways.Look up the guy doing superman pose in tourde france on his bike at speed. speed is easy..its staying fast thats not.;o)

It's not hard to get high speed when you tailing a car or truck since the wind/air resistance is almost none. The hard thing is to keep balance of your body and bike in that high speed. Any small shake/impact could get you crashed.
