When did 'Gaspipe' ever tell the truth with his lifestyle/allegiance?"Anthony was sick of those who turned govt witness" says Carlo. Then tells us that 'Gaspipe' turned govt witness. Not exactly consistent is he (Carlo)? 'Gaspipe' well, he's clearly a hypocrite. Carlo's book is not that good. Moreover Casso clearly found the job beyond him.

@kentishtowncowboy I just finnished reading the book and also found him to be a hypocrite. He says a few times in the book if you shook hands with a guy in the street you could take it to the bank refering to the government being untrustworthy lol...i wonder how many friends were killed after shaking his hand and kissing his cheek

@jasongrillo Yeah, agreed. It's their friends that kill them. How 'honourable' is that?? The advantage that Casso had was his crooked cops who found the inside track and then murdered at his behest/payment. He was killing everyone he even suspected yet all the time he was in hiding. I'll stop there. If anything, the book revealed the limited brains possesed by Casso. Clearly he wasn't bright enough to be the a Top Boss....

@kentishtowncowboy he was a bad boss. he killed made men who were not working with the feds. he turned the jersey faction against him by being greedy and demanding almost half of their earnings starting a civil war, he forced his acting boss to flip when he tried to kill one his most loyal capos for no reason and this takes the cake, he ordered the killing of an inoocent woman who sister of rat then try to become a rat when he get busted? how low has oc fallen.

Like gotti, casso ran the family into the ground. Tony ducks was the last real boss.

The FBI had a hard-on to get Gotti. it was based on a few wiretaps and everything that Gravano said. Gaspipe got burned because he said in his plea that Gravano was a drug dealer and a liar and was the complete opposite of what Gravano had told them about himself. It would have opened him up completeley in court, and Gravano's testimony against Gotti may not have stuck.

I read Phillip Carlos book about Casso. Very good book, I'll say. I have to read "The Butcher" by Carlo next.
