  • HTC should get their QA department in fucking order. It's unacceptable to think that AAA phones are buggy, leggy and act like this. Is anyone running gingerbread 2.3.5?

  • I have the same problem and problem with camera.

    Grrr.

  • Happened to mine too since yesterday, I'm sending it to repair today and hope the warranty covers this.

  • My HTC Desire has done this since I brought it. I brought it when they first came out and I can't deal with out a phone for like 3 months while it is sent off for repairs so I am just never going to buy a HTC Phone ever again. I have owned 7 HTC Phones and 4 of them have died from manufacturing faults. I do like HTC's phones but their build quality is really bad.

  • I am now having this same issue. I am located in the United States, and my cell phone carrier is US Cellular. The phone continues to overheat and reboot itself. If you take the back cover off, the bottom left corner below the battery gets very hot. I can kind of judge when the phone is about to reboot due to how hot this area is. I had a software reboot done by US Cell, this didn't fix the issue. Time to send it in for repairs, wish me luck!

  • Hi, i have the exact same problem. I did a video too - Xp87yDYNOb8

My phone is on the way to the repair centre right now.

  • I have the same problem. It was sent to 3 Network who re-flashed it, returned very quickly but as soon as i installed a few apps and tried Google Navigation, it did the same as yours. Also my phone could not be used whilst it is on charge.

Total disaster and to make matters worse, it has been in the HTC repair lab for nearly one month now. No phone for 4 weeks and it's still ongoing. I have a HTC Desire HD as well, but that phone seems to have no problems so far.

  • I gt the same problem can I even get it fixed??

  • I see a lot of videos of this behavior on youtube with the N1 and Desire. I got a lemon too. So frustrating.

  • Got the same problem with mine...men it's so pissing mate...I hate it...feel like breaking it whenever it happens.....

  • @MrSolumbe been there done that mine reboots every twelwe seconds it has only been getting worse

  • @MrSolumbe I ended up smashing mine, I tell you it felt so amazing, I'm back on my old N95.

  • I have changed 2nd motherboard, and my phone after getting back for a week its now rebooting again! wtf! HTC fix the phone or give me a new one!

  • nd i suugested it 2 my gf who bought it nd overheats widin fucking 10 mins...fucking htc fucked me...i m in bangladesh...no customer service here :( ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • happens to me too!

  • I have the same problem but it only happened when I went to Tanzania (cause it's really hot). But when I'm at home in Cape Town it's fine. It's pretty annoying.

  • I have the same problem.....and I live in Bangkok! It's even hot in the winter!!! haha.

So, I take it that the problem is the motherboard. I've had my phone rooted so I'll probably have to pay for it myself. Hope it's not expensive!

  • Anyone had this problem with Desire HD?

  • Happens to me too. I will NEVER even consider buying from HTC again! Such an expensive phone with a fault that makes it unusable!? No thank you.

  • @ranger1944omaha expensive? buy then a DORO phone.

  • Catherine HD, thank You, what i found on Vodafone forum:

    bongedone -- Yesterday, 12:25 PM

The phone still has not crashed and works like a dream. My IMEI changed which points to a new motherboard

  • My phone is doing the same thing..Ive had it since may... I tried reinstalling it, doing the clear out thing and that made it 1000 times worst, I cant even get my home screen up anymore...its so annoying having such a great phone but not being able to use it due to it always restarting/... im going to try return it tomorrow or get it repaired... :(

  • My "Desire" is still resetting up to 10 times/day. On charging, browsing, navigating, playing. Any time. I don`t want to bring it to HTC service and wait for 5 weeks. I like my phone, but....i begining to search another device with Android.

    Sorry for my english.

  • @Mafuto007 your english was good, My Desire does the same thing, Im thinking of going back to my good old £30 cheap phone which had no problems lol

  • Snap. The feeling of "is the rear cover going to snap this time?" is great isn't it!?

  • Yeah, I do have the same problem. Sent it back and they switched the antenna?!?! LOL! I guess I have to send it back, and I hope they will fix the motherboard.

@siscopiso Thanks! I hope they can fix the problem :S

If they won't, do you think the problem will get worse, because to me it only happens sometimes when i for example plays a high-prestanda game for a while. How much would it cost if I had to pay for it??

  • @adamal93 no Idea, well for me it was happening not that often first but then after I updated my google maps it went berserk exactly like the video. it does have something to do with heating but I'm not sure that the heat causes the restart or not (which shouldnt anyway)...mine doesnt get THAT hot anymore after they changed the motherboard!

  • @siscopiso Strange.. Very well, I have sent it to reparation, and I hope they will fix it. I said to them that I believe it's the motherboard, and right now they are waiting for some parts to be delivered, blablabla. I hope it doesn't take many months, because I promise that when I will get it back, it's probably outdated. :/

  • I had the same problem on my Desire, when I launched Google Navigation it would reboot in loops, maybe restarting over and over again, mine has gone back to HTC UK for repair, I hope they fix it.

  • send it back again and they need to replace the motherboard and it will be fine again! had the same problem and now its fixed!

    good luck!

  • Thanks siscopiso, that's exactly what I'm doing. I've attached the youtube link to the notes that accompany the faulty Desire. I note that there are quite a few Desires doing this now.

  • @siscopiso thats what they are doing to mine... I love the Desire, but recently it's had me wanting to throw it against a wall withh all the self reboots!

  • @siscopiso nope~ I just reset it, then, it magically works

  • @siscopiso I have same problem! Will it work after my motherboard replaced or the will keep replacing it until warranty times out?!

  • @TheElijman no once they replace the motherboard it will be fine! or at least for me it was ok once I got it back from the repair service!

  • @siscopiso repaired twice changed mobo twice and now a week later its rebooting again, not even in a overheated environment, just a phone call and aircon blowing on it.
